I have been trying to get my site (www.paypal-poker.info) to page one of google for keywords (paypal poker) for just under a year. I did manage to make it to page one for a week or so but was dropped back to page 2. I have no pagerank could this be why? And is there anything more i should do to the site to give it a better chance of reaching page one? Thanks in advance for the advice!
NO... PR has nothing to do with it as a PR0 site can easily beat out a PR5-6 in the google serps. Add more content concerning your site and build more relevant backlinks and that will help it rise naturally. thx malcolm
I agree with Malcolms advice, spot on advice. Keep working at it and it will happen, your almost at the finish line.
Make more links in your site, internal links to be specific. Do w3c checkup on your site and remove trash tags on it.
Can that make quite a significant difference? im interested in that for my sites, i will look into it if it can help.
I don't think that (validating HTML) would make any significant difference in SEO.. I would advise to revise your title to make it more keyword focus
PR has no direct connection to SERP....continue promoting your site if you want to have a good SERP position....remember there millions of competitors who are trying to outrank your site...
a casino site? well, you have lots of competitor here. maybe you're really having a hard time optimizing such site. I know that most of this kind of site entertain paid services. they really need fast results of course...as a free services user, you might be overrun by your competitors easily. but don't lose hope, keep on optimizing....ahm, anchoring text will help, lots of promotions and regularly doing it will help a lot... your PR has nothing to do with it. don't mind it at all...
To validate HTML, http://validator.w3.org/ To validate CSS, http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/ I'm not too sure if cleaning up your code will really help you reach page 1. There are many contradicting viewpoints on this subject.
The question I ask is, is it worth it? Keyword tools suggest that it will get around 3-4 hits a day. Also there are so few sites it should be relatively easy to get to number one. I would suggest that you write articles and perhaps rewrite the site in CSS rather than tables.
I played around a bit with diffrent google servers and found your site on page one at this server: http://www.google.se/search?q=paypal+poker&hl=en&start=0&sa=N You are at the last spot but still on the first page, gues that should make you a bit happy though Also if you like to improve your sites ranking for this keyword I would recommend you to get several hardlinks up pointing towards your site with the exact keywords you like.
Yes it is worth it I just sold the site for £1000 and it has made me around £5000 in the past year so yes. The affiliate program that paypal-poker.info promotes pays £83 per sale!
