First, what is squidoo? I have started doing some freelance writing. Now, I am looking for other ways of making money. I swa a post that said you could make money with squidoo. How?
lol i think you should use the search feature. In my opinion it would be very hard to make money on squidoo. When squidoo first came out it was very easy to rank for keywords. Now you barely ever see any squidoo pages on first page of google unless its a very long tail keyword, or if someone is just parasite hosting and link spamming the hell out of their squidoo lense. Personally i think squidoo is a waste of time, but that is my opinion.
I use a few Squidoo lenses to link back to my blogs. I get a small amount of traffic that way. I think from Squidoo itself I have earned a whole 23 cents in about 6 months.
Squidoo lenses have fallen to the wayside for the pimp smacking that google gave them a few months back.
I dont use squidoo,but there are many webmasters use it,you can try it to get some free traffic or some backlinks.

The old saying about not putting all your eggs in one basket. But it also means that if you wrote four separate articles on the same topic (to do with different aspects) you can link them together, and get traffic from four sources than just one. I publish at HubPages (http://hubpages.com/_recommended/hub/howhubworks), Gather (www.squidoo.com/gatherpoints) and a few others.
I've got some lenses ranked top 5 for some pretty popular keywords. As with any other online tool, you just have to be smart/experienced enough to figure out how to utilize it profitably.
Squidoo is overcrowded. I think if I ever do a site like that, I'll limit the number of people. Etsy.com sells artisan jewelry and it, too, is way overcrowded. Sometimes you just have to draw the line. So the traffic from there has been non existent.
grab two or three free articles related to your blog and post it in squidoo, free high PR backlink in less than 5 minutes of work. If you are lucky, i mean very lucky, u will get some traffic as well. i have a lens http://www.squidoo.com/amazon-money gets very lucky and still ranked very high in yahoo and msn, like 100 page view a day and around 20 unique traffic to my blog. But other 49 of my 50 lens are dead. spend ur time on blog, you get adsense revenue too.

You'll have trouble making any money on Squidoo, if you're this late arriving to it. The fastest way to start making money (if you're a freelance writer) is to use the Buy/Sell sections of forums like this one. It won't be much money at first, but it'll give you experience (and articles to show future clients).
The thing is you'll only get a one off payment. Whereas Squidoo is residual. You write it, its yours, it's up there and a year from now you could still be making money from it when people visit the page and buy a product.
Webroot, dnstrader you don't know what you're talking about. You're telling that "Squidoo time is over!" blablabla have you ever made a dime with Squidoo lenses? I guess no. I made more than $880 just with Squidoo lenses, I wrote a report about it you can get it for free through the second link in my sig. You'll learn some great techniques.

that's probably a better idea...you could make money telling people how to make money on squidoo. I'm not saying it's impossible to make money on squidoo, I just think for someone who just started freelancing there are better options. That's just my opinion. I think squidoo and the guy that created it are lame. Again, just my opinion...no one can factually prove that they are lame. The point is, freelance writing is a very difficult profession. Good luck with whatever path you choose.
