I have added two images both of which are showing up in the right sidebar. So I am not sure what you mean by my images not showing up. I tried to add a header image but it was going to interfere with the header text so I deleted it.

I am struggling with the categories a bit. My original thought was to use generic category descriptions. Then when browsing the products that were filling in the categories I was getting costumes, CD's ect. along with actual car accessories. So I thought about using vehicle makes as the category with generic subcategories to avoid redundancy and in an effort to produce more relevant listings. I'll keep tinkering.

When I get the categories in better shape and some spotlights built I will work on some site promotion.

Good suggestion. We should add that.

I'm seeing the "no page found" as well. I think I mentioned in an earlier post that we are upgrading infrastructure (2 more web servers) and a better database server. When we have all of that in production, those should go away. We'll get it solved before launch.

How many relationships at CJ do you have? I get plenty of products from various vendors. You probably need more (like 40) built in CJ.com to ensure variety. Obviously, the more closely related the advertisers are to your niche, the better. For example, if you build a relationship with a clothing merchant, but your Niche is cars, you're not going to see too many products from CJ. However, keep in mind, I see a nice income from Amazon alone...

That's me. I sometimes forget to log out and log back in as Purdue512 when I'm working on the forum.

Two things you should absolutely be doing:

    1) Link-building to your store. Forum signatures. Blogs. Directory Submission. Anywhere. You should also have a min of 20 blogs running where you post unique content regularly with subject matter related to your Niche Store that has links to your store.

    2) Activate and Promote the Affiliate Program. Again - This will get back-links to your store. I get a handful of Affiliate sign-ups a day. This equates to free back-links to the store as they promote their affiliate links. Even though you won't see direct revenue from those links, you gain link juice to your site and the entire site floats up in the Google output (SERP). Over time, this is VERY POWERFUL.. Your organic traffic will grow, as will your revenue.

Optional (many people don't want / have the money for this):

    3) Consider Adwords advertising for your Niche Store in very specific ways against keyword phrases that you've specifically picked and integrated into your site. Track conversions and test several keywords until you find one that converts nicely and shows a profit. All tests need to run for at least 4 days.

Hope that helps... I will also be coming out with promotional offers as we launch. I've decided on a couple things for sure:

    A) An offer to get advertising credits on Blogskinny.com (PR7) in return for launch-promotion activities.
    B) An offer for back-links to your store in return launch-promotion activities..

    Stay tuned...

    If you feel comfortable...

Don't forget article marketing. This has been extremely effective for me with affiliate marketing!

Agreed. I plan to build in auto-submission to my PR7 Article Site in a future version (prior to release).

Certainly do add your blogs to Blogskinny. I'll give you a few thousand ad credits for participating in the beta-test - as promised.

Also. I've gotten a few PMs about more beta-testers. I'd take one or two more. I'd like to launch in the next 10-14 days assuming we get all the bugs out.

I've got a premium account with USFreeAds if anyone wants to throw a few ads my way to publish. The site is very good for the serps and receives great exposure.

    Westwing,

See my PM on your continued DNS problems. I looked them up and they are definitely not right yet.

I'm working on a domain name api to make this automatic. I think that we must have that for this to fly for newer IMers.

Also WestWing, I think your banner graphic is a little too big. You should shrink it down a bit...

Otherwise, you're coming along nicely.. Let me know what else I can do..

Please do post issues to Forum.Compare4.us

We'd love to have you advise us (ha ha ha)... But seriously, PM sent. (okay - too many late nights on this project :D)

See Forum.Compare4.us for full details and help.

Also: See the Beta 0.52 Release Notes here:

    http://forum.compare4.us/topic.php?id=18&replies=2

This release includes the MUCH asked for feature for the store operator to control the percentage of time their affiliate's IDs are used in the outbound links (as opposed to theirs). I'm excited about this feature because it brings a multi-level component to the product, but executed via link sharing so that NO money is flowing through the store operator. I continue to think this is a big advantage because you completely avoid any trust issues by having payment come directly from Amazon and CJ. Please consider your percentage setting carefully as I believe that people who build links to you (i.e., your affiliates) deserve fair treatment.

PLEASE also read the release notes on this feature. Testing it is EXTREMELY TRICKY due to the client cookies that are set for affiliate-generated traffic. Don't let this fool you into thinking it's not working. Once you come to your store vian an affiliate link, the cookie is set. Which means they "own you" until the cookie expires. To do a proper test of this feature, be sure to delete cookies in between tests... We did extensive QA on this feature given that it's at the core of how the product makes money.. As always, doesn't mean we didn't miss something ;)

Hi, I've probably come in too late on this, but if you are still after a beta tester I'll put my hand up.

I've been searching the forum for this kind of thing.

    Cheers

A quick update for me, heres my site http://www.1800shop4us.com . The header still needs to be adjusted for Firefox users but IE seems to work with it. I tried shrinking the graphic but that didn't seem to hold it in the header in Firefox. Must be a Firefox thing I'm guessing.
