This has been bothering me for years. I always wanted to move to United States but nobody knew how to help me. I don't even know where to start and where to get all the info I need. I want to know everything from A - Z, where can I ask for help? Is there any place online with such info, can you guys help me? I was thinking about San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego or Miami. I'm really 100% positive about this, I'm just waiting for my degree in Informatics. I should be done with school within a year and a half.
After i read LA and Miami and San Diego i was about to fell of my chair. Why do you want to move there? Go USA's goverment in your country and ask about green card lottery as they are the only prompted to make such lottery. And i dont think its worth it. Here in the Balkans life is good.
Well those cities are what I'm looking for, I would probably choose San Francisco. Big city, friendly people, warm all year and good opportunities for a job. I would move for two reasons: 1. Bigger paycheck 2. I'm tired of the Balkans Green card lottery sucks. If I'd want to play a lottery I'd probably play European Lottery, at least I know what I'm playing for. Are there any other ways of getting across the border and gaining citizenship?
The pretties women on earth are in Bulgaria. I dont know if you are aware but there are many gays in SF.(i am sorry if i have offended someone). There are also earthquakes. Bigger paychek you say? Where do you think you are going to live? Rent a room live in total misery? Things here in the Balkans should get better in the next couple of years. Dont run be a part of the change.
No matter the changes I will always live better in US with the education I have. Besides, I feel attracted to US . I'm also aware of gay population in San Francisco but it doesn't bother me, at least they're not violent and I could get used to earthquakes.
Point 1: Just because you will have a bigger paycheck, doesn't mean you will have a higher standard of living. Point 2: So why US? You are posting on DP. You supposedly are making money on the net already. That money will go a lot further in Slovenia than in San Fransisco. If you want to switch to a regular 9-5 job in San Francisco, you will realize that getting paid 75K/year sucks since you will take home after taxes about 40K and pay 18-20K rent for a crappy place. And everything else is expensive too. Buying a house is at least 600K and that's very optimistic cost. Nothing wrong with trying new things and checking out new places, but trust me, the movies are wrong. It's not nearly as fun and glamorous.
Sounds good to me But I don't think you have better beer Not our piss beer like Budweiser, but Long Trail, Sam Adams, Magic Hat, Harpoon, Sierra Nevada, etc... It would be fun to have a taste off. Cheers!
a-z ok, i will give you b & c bowling & columbine = bowling for columbine, watch this doc, it is full of interesting questions that you might want to ask yourself before moving to a country that has the highest murder rate in the world. PS - i dont hate america or americans so dont bash me
yeah and pigs fly. come on man, everyone knows the outback is filled with incest. America has a piece of everything - desert, mountains, snow, beaches, hotties, swamps, ranches, music, wild parties, bar-b-q, a variety of the best foods ever, more beer choices, oh the list goes on! It's the land of opportunity! Bush has just made us a little hated in some places but that will change when we get our new president. I think it's funny when somone from another country says something like " oh we have mountains here and it's so beautiful not like america". That's about all they have. We have that and then some! yeah it does have the highest murder rate/crime rate.. just stay out of the ghetto fool!
Don't listen to these inbreds who are scared be different, America has wonderful opportunities,a variety of everything, and the most spectacular landscapes. Anyone who has traveled the American West cannot even describe in words the beauty of it all. I for one wouldn't care a for big city but it might be a better start for an immigrant. Boston is an immigrant city ya might check into it... Good luck...
who are you to call me an inbred? you deffo live in the suburbs then with a huge wall around the mini village. and you certainly dont get chance to watch real/uncensored tv on youtube then.
Wow, so many different instructions. Tell me, if I work for a 100% paycheck in United States and 30% is taken by IRS and another 30% goes to for the rent, what's the difference, from the economical point of view, if the finances are divided exactly the same here where I live now? It's true that I work for 10,600$/year right now and I would probably get seven times more in Unites States but the difference between those 40% I get from my paycheck here and the 40% I would get in Unites States matters, a lot. See, tax collecting services work around here too and rent is not cheap but with those 40% left I can't buy a PC but I would be able to do that with the US 40%. Do you understand what I'm trying to say? No matter the proportion, I'm sure I would be able to live better in Unites States rather than here in the Balkans. Besides all that, I feel my mentality has changed. I either feel more American than European or we all got infected by american lifestyle and I always wanted to move to United States. This is my chance. After I graduate, in a year and a half, if I don't move within a year I'll probably stay here for the rest of my life. We only live once, why should I die here in boredom when I have the whole world to explore. I want to live and if I desire to move elsewhere I don't care how much I'm going to earn or spend, I just want to try something new, something I always wanted.
Firstly why? secondly what country are you originally from? where is your citizenship? passport etc No offence to americans but the party for that country is over, stopped about 7 years ago, the people are losing their rights. I compare it to me, from the UK, wanting to sneak into North Korea, because i think it would be nice. No offence to americans. Similarly i dont understand immigrants desire to live in the UK, its so heavily CCTV'd here, poor weather, and if the jobs were so great then we wouldn't have the unemployment that we do.
I was born and grew up in Poland (before my parents moved to the US). Things were different back then. Now you guys have more options. Now every young person in Poland is moving to the UK. When you think about it, UK makes more sense. The income disparity is greater, but the distance is much shorter. There is also a sizable imigrant community there so you have more support, if you ever need it/want it...
You are crazy you whant to move to some very expensive places that aren't so great Stay here visit europe etc ..... enjoy life
I live in a mountain village with all the amenities but advantages of rural mountain life, 2 hours drive from Mexico and large cities and I live in the single most geographically, ethnic, intellectually and economically diverse country in the world. Ha...suburbs....youtube? I'm sorry your country doesn't allow the truth or perhaps you just havn't taken the time to educate yourself on my country. On the other hand I just might come visit your country sometime and find I enjoy it as well.
I live an America and I wouldn't step foot on the West Coast of this country by choice. San Francisco is full of queers. Hollywood is full of well hell ain't no description for what it is full of. I live in Pennsylvania now but I am originally from Texas. As far as I am concerned the south has nothing for me because it is full of illegal immigrants. Now being you want to come in the legal way you have my support. As for how to get in I have no clue. The US embassy is probably your best bet to get the information you seek.
