If I got it right, google sandbox works in a slightly different way that it did few years ago. I've came upon a topic at Webmasterworld where it says that a site can avoid sandbox if it's linked from a high Trustrank sites... Then I saw the Article saying that Google trustrank starts from less than 200 hand picked sites. Nobody even knows if Google uses TrustRank except the inner core of the Googleplex. If they do then it could be 200 handpicked sites or any other number, they could even be deduced algorithmically by now. You may find my 2005 posts on TrustRank interesting background reading.
