    Hi guys
Approximetely 15 years ago a ''smart'' Bulgarian registered coca-cola.com for about 30 $ ago because he was coca-cola fan and wanted to make a site about it.11 monts later Coca-Cola offered 1 000 000 $ but he wanted 6 000 000.During the negotiations the domain has expired and the company got it for 25 $....
    ....

Bullsh!t. They could get the domain back for trademark infringement.

Well, they already got it, so it doesn't matter.

Was there trademark on coca cola before it was registered? I wouldn't accept the 1 million, I would've countered at 4 but I would've held onto it. Wow, idiots! :p

    LOL....that's funny. What an idiot!

15 years ago, I don't think they'd have a chance. I remember reading back in the 90s people were selling TM domains to those companies, eg. McDonalds if I remember correctly.

Symbolics.com was the first, it was registered on the 15th March 1985. (I think!)

Wasn't there a similar story behind 21st Century Fox years ago, when that corporation 'forgot' to register the name at the turn of the century and someone else pipped them to it?

I would be surprised if the coca-cola story was true. Anybody got a link?

So stupid to let 1000000 expired? Hard to believe that.

There is indeed. Some trademarks existed long before domain names came about.
