I hate writing articles but I really don't mind putting in the grunt work to get visitors. I've noticed that w/ Yahoo Answers if you answer too many questions it realizes your spamming and shuts you off and I've gotten worried about that. I've posted on a lot of classifieds boards but haven't bought an autoposters since the consensus seems to be the posts get pulled. I don't mind putting in like 10 - 12 hours work a day marketing if there's a way to get 1,000 visitors per day. I just don't seem to know how to do it. The most visitors I've ever had is 200 just because I don't know where to market. Any suggestions for someone who's willing to do mind-numbing advertising?
You have to look into instant result solutions. Best approach is advertising on classified ads sites, social networking sites like Digg, StumbleUpon etc.
The best way to get 1000 visitors is through using of pay per click (PPC) techniques like Google Adwords, Yahoo Publisher and MSN Adcenter. You can also try the SMO (social media optimization ) and using of video blog. It is not better to buy traffic because it does not give organic result for the site.
If you need some real help you should probably tell us what the site is about. There are many ways to get traffic to a site, but not all of them are good for any site.
Unfortunately, getting lots of good, targeted traffic to your site requires time, hard work and perseverance.
If you hate writing, then you really need to get somebody to help you out. If you try to give as much value as possible... hate is not perhaps the best starting point Yeh, you know why? Because that is spamming. Don't spam. If you do lots of posting, then track your progress. See what kind of postings work best, and do more those & less others. I'm sure you can do what it takes.
I have started with 60 unique visitors/day and have now about 400-500 unique visitors/day. It took me almoste 2 years, but I'm happy with the results. The tricks are: SEO, good structure of your website, content content and content (I mean GOOD content).
Whoops. I hit the wrong key before I was finished. Anyway, if your willing to put in some hours, writing articles is a great way to get some traffic. Find a good service that doesn't cost too much and has a good reputation to handle the grunt work of submitting your articles enmass. The good services have relationships with the article sites and get you exposed really fast. Also, I have seen first-hand my Google rank go up when I go on a mission and write a lot of articles. The more you submit, the better your ranking with Google. I can tell you also that buying visitors DOES NOT WORK! Don't waste your hard earned money. I made that mistake in my early days many years ago. The fact is, they do deliver the hits, but they are worth absolutely zero. Here's a real statistic for you: I once purchased 300,000 hits. I got 300,000 hits. I got zero newsletter signups (even with signup gifts) and zero sales. At any rate, hang in there. I'll think of some more good ways to help you get targeted visitors. You're going to have to tell us what industry or niche your website is targeting. Without that information is almost impossible to give good specific suggestions for traffic building.
I also suggest like others not to buy traffic. Its total waste of money. Hard work pays off. If you are looking for instant solution buying lottery ticket have more chance
Firstly i do agree about buying traffic as the results dont way up, i bought loads untill i relized i was getting hits, but no signup,s, traffic was coming untill the hits i ordered stopped, So ive stopped paying and Now, 1) I rebrand software, ebooks, with my url,s in there. 2) I get lists of new giveaways and submit gifts to them to build a list 3) joined certian sites that allow you to mail emails that are collected. but still my traffic is sometimes slow..... the process for traffic I FEEL TAKES YEARS TO ADJUST, the old wording= the money is in the list is a very true saying for me regards Albert F A Matthews

Please post a link to your site. After reading this I'm curious as to what your objective is with these hits?
At least Google AdWords work, although you'll have to pay for it. I'm trying out StumbleUpon and Yahoo! Marketing Search also, but I don't have any experience on those, check them out.
What is your site? have you tried SEO to get better organic traffic? have you tried putting up banners on related sites?
Don't pay for traffic packages...(= don't buy traffic packages of 10000 unique visitors and stuff like that), most of them are bots.
