Hi, I have recently affiliated to PayPerPlay marketing program (see link in sig). Your visitors don't need to click as ads are played for 5 secs. PPP claim they will pay 0.01 to 0.03 USD for every ads played. Do you think it is worth to take the risk to have your visitor upset by this intrusive marketing technique? Thanks.
Will see how much annoying they will be - i'm waiting for site launch on 1 st february. btw: all ads in general are annoying thing
i disagree... i think for the most part you can keep them out of the way. There is nothing that pisses me off more then to goto a website and have some audio start blasting out of my speakers.
Its just a 5 Second Ad and for your sites that do not earn well with Adsense this will be great and if you choose to you can also use it along with Adsense and make even more Income..
Imagine every site you go to, and every page you loaded, had 5 seconds of audio you must listen to. Sorry I agree with Shoe on this one, I don't see it as a long lasting campaign or business model. Audio plays an important part to interactive advertising however forcing people to listen to ads per page/site is a horrible way to monetize your visitors, who in turn will more than likely never return to your site again.
I guess it just depends on how much you want people coming back. I wouldnt recommend it for anyone taking their site seriously. however if your driving a bunch of shit traffic to it then whatever...
Interesting assumption?! Are this assumption based on some source or just 'guts feeling'? I cannot believe that these guys from PPP are so wrong.
I set it up after hearing an ad on a site and then speaking with one of the owners. I think it will be pretty good. Geo and content targetted 5 second ads.
I think that will be ok.. I will try that. 5 sec irritating sound but u get 1-3c for unique.. That could be nice numbers. if u have 10k uniques u will earn min. 100$. That sound's too much...
I have mixed feelings on PPP, but I am an affiliate and hope for the best. I don't see a 5 second audio ad being a big deal. It's short, sweet, and done. Banner ads on the other hand are flashing all over the place while you're trying to view real content. The truth is, if you're delivering quality content that people enjoy, a 5 second audio ad isn't going to keep them from coming back. Guess it depends on how confident you are of your site. When it's all said and done, webmasters won't be the judge....the people visiting your site will determine PPP's effectiveness.
I never turn my speakers off, and I don't know anyone who does. There aren't many sites right now that have auto-play audio, so it's not neccesary.
I always have my speakers off unless listening to music. I think this would drive away visitors like crazy
I completely agree with this, and for that reason, the only thing I would do with PPP would be to put it on a webpage by itself, and have the link to the page tell the user what they are about to get into. Curiosity may get the best of them.
From their signup form, I see two checkboxes that read: - I agree to embed the NetAudioAds code fragment on my websites now. - I understand that paid advertising will begin in February, 2008. So does that mean that you have to put the code on when you sign up and not get paid for impressions/ads until February?
Yes. You must add now the code on your web page. By doing that, you enable them to estimate the potential traffic. However, you don't get paid because there are no ads actually being played. Ads are supposed to start being played by February. By that time we will start earning from played ads. I think this is perfectly fair.
