    Hey I got a 5 point infraction for starting a thread like this:
    ===============================================
    This is a product in the hobby category.

    I've proven again and again that this offer converts well.

    I'm looking for affiliates proficient in PPC marketing (adwords, yahoo, msn) and article/bum marketing.

    You're also welcome to use any other methods that have worked well for you before (except spamming).

    PM me for details if you're interested.

    See attached screenshot for proof of sales.

    ===============================================

    Reason...spamming.

    Some mod must have having a bad hair day or something...I'm promoting a decent affiliate program here...so where's the spam????

    Whatever...

    I already saw that...and I gave my reasons why I wanted to take it into PM.
    I guess rules are rules,...some mods just follow blindly.

    The whole point of having new rules is to prevent shady affiliate programs from being promoted here...and I can understand that. Some bad apples spoil the show for everyone. :(

    I think it was an issue for too much generalities and you need to be more specific.

    3) Does this look like the feedback section?

    haha,,..it's you shoe...i know you...and thanks for another infraction :rolleyes: So you must be having a bad hairless day then...hehe

    Anyway, I'd be happy to post the whole url here if not for the following reasons.

    1) I'd like to have more control over who I work with. Posting the affiliate program in public means everyone can join at the same time. As I'm not Azoogle, I don't have the resources to work with everyone all at once. So by taking it into PM, I can work closely with the more serious affiliates.

    2) Some traffic sources like PPC may get saturated with too many affiliates bidding on the same keywords. By taking it into PM, and asking what their promotion methods are, I'm able to give these affiliates a good headstart.

    3) It's a completely legitimate affiliate program. (It's in the hobby niche). And I already said, I completely understand the reason for the new rules. Scams are not nice, and I'm glad the mods are doing what they can to stop them. But I think rules are just rules. Sometimes, they can be a bit too rigid.

    I gave the above reasons in my thread but I guess everyone missed that. I put them up for discussion here, so if any one cares to contribute your 2 cents, please do.

    I'm sure you all can feel that I have a grievance to voice here. Coz I have a genuinely nice affiliate program to promote here, and I feel I've been wrongly accused of spamming. Spamming means I have total disregard for the interest of this forum, and spam just for selfish reasons. And I take offense in that, becoz that's completely untrue.

    And the current infraction system leaves me no room for feedback. So I go back to the same forum, hoping the same mod would see my feedback, and started a new thread. Shoe gave me another infraction for that :rolleyes: Reason...wrong thread.

    I guess he's the one with all the powers here, so he can do whatever he want or whatever makes him happy.

    Personally I can't see the difference between handpicking at this point, or after signup. Just build in an extra vetting step to your program.

    The moment this does well someone will blog about their success and you'll have your link sent all over anyway.

    Sarahk, it's the rules, no two way about it.

    So it's not up to me to choose whether I can hand pick or not. I'll just have to post the program up.

    But yes, it does make a difference. Think about this.

    Let's say I have an affiliate program that requires more testing, and I just want to recruit a few more affiliates to help test the conversion. I wouldn't want the whole world to know about it just yet...it helps to take it into PM.

    Of course, when the time comes for the whole world to know about it, heck I'd just post the signup URL here..lol
