Are you a smoker?

    Hey guys,

I'm just wondering how many of you are smokers are if you've been able to kick your habit in the past. I've been a pack-a-day smoker for about 2 years now and have had lung problems all my life. My doctor told me my chest sounds like that of an 80-year-old smoker, however I'm only young. I've been trying to quit over the past few days and it just seems like an impossible habit to quit. I've seen serious addiction in my past with hard drugs (cocaine & ketamine) that I've been able to kick but quitting smoking doesn't seem feasible.

Any suggestions for the best ways to quit or best products to use?

    - Mike

i used to smoke around 30 a day until last march when i stopped

once i had decided to stop it was simple

i knew i didnt smoke anymore but i had to get past the nicotine cravings so i got gum and patches (the patches give you brilliant nightmares) and i stuck through the cravings and i have been smoke free for about 9 months now

it is worth giving up as you will notice a lot of improvements within a few weeks

after 6 months you will feel pretty much totally different

just stick your head down and do it.

    dont "try" to give up

either do it or dont do it

I have an ex-smoker friend who had a very simple but effective cure. He mashed up a load of old cigarette butts and soaked them in a jar of water. Every time he felt the urge to smoke he reached for the jar, opened the lid, stuck his nose in and inhaled deeply. The foul stench was enough to make anyone vomit.
