Les, idealrealtor.com is a nice domain name, but don't plan on using it without getting a cease and desist order from the National Association of Realtors. Realtor is a trademarked term. They DO slap people for using it in domain names.

Malcom, not sure if you were adressing me or the lot of us, but... Yes, the real estate market has been in decline the last year or so. I've talked to at least one RE directory who said his adsense revenue is down by more than half off its peak. That said, there's still hundreds of thousands of homes sold every year in the US, and hundreds of thousands of real estate agents that need exposure for their websites. Real estate is a trillions of $ business in the US. The niche isn't going anywhere.

Not really, right now Costa Rica has the hottest real estate market on Planet Earth, which is why I have started a Costa Rica Real Estate Investment Company. Tons of American, Canadian and European tourists come here to Santa Teresa, the number 5 surf spot in the world. Yes, the economy in the U.S. does impact tourism a little bit, but on the other hand Europeans are doing very well right now, so one way or the other, the market here keeps on growing because of it. - Mike

Find a directory style you like - purchase it - get it uploaded and then join all the real estate forums and seo forums and put the directory into your sigs. You'll also want to do all the regular SEO strategies content, links, onsite and make it useful/different/beneficial/unique etc... I'm new to the directory world though and am sure that some of these experts will help you out more.

Here is my advice: Keep it quality, focus on generating traffic from endusers rather than webmasters and for crying out loud, get a better logo.
Who ows estateround.com? I am curious as to why a directory would advertise free listings for reciprocal links and as soon as they get a link to them they deny approval. Just another little scam trying to gain one way backlinks?
