Registered both partnerquest.com and partnerquest.co.uk a long time ago (before computers were invented) with the intention of setting up some sort of dating agency. Done sod all with them in the intervening years and my interests are in developing other types of websites. About 2 years ago, had an email (out of the blue) from someone (or might have a domain acquiring service) asking would I be interested in selling an mentioned $xxxx so seemingly a quite serious offer. At the time I turned it down but now feel that as I might aswell sell and use the money to develop other sites. I would be honest and say if someone only offered me a low price, I wouldn't bother selling and perhaps eventually develop something myself but that is a long way off. So what are they worth and what's the best way to sell them. A couple of days ago, I stuck them on a site called Sedo but haven't paid for any of their premium services. Welcome all views, positive or negative.
partnerquest.com worth low to mid $xxx undeveloped Partnerquest.co.uk is worth reg fee Having said that co.uk should be worth locally more to an end user. Put up a mini site with few pages. stick some adsense and submit it to directories and link to some websites. do this for some time and you will get a good idea of its potential. if you want another appraisal opinion list it at namepros or dnforum.
Thanks for replying. I hadn't considered that option, not a bad idea at all and I might just do that.
I always like it how the North Americans value every .co.uk as reg fee without having a real clue to the market here. The fact that you have both together helps. As someone else mentioned just above, there's no need to do a fully developed site as you planned, just do something simple that you can complete in a day or two, whack on some Adbrite or Adsense, sit on them both for a bit with a 301 page redirect sending the traffic from one to the other, should be able to get away with that ok, and later use the traffic, PR if any and backlinks acquired, plus any revenue as a tool to getting a higher price offered than just standalone domain names in their own right. As mentioned though, having the pair together, particularly for a UK buyer, the .co.uk and the .com can only help you achieve a reasonable price at the end of the day.
Absolutely true. Too bad you did not develop that dating site back then Anyway my feeling is you won't make much money by selling them today. So unless you really need some $ now, i'd put at least a page talking about partner quests / dating and let it age like wine.
If I had an $x,xxx offer, I'd definately have sold this one for that price. Could it have been partnerquest.de that made that offer 2 years ago? Looks like they've got a developed site. I'd say try & sell it to them to get the best price. Otherwise, partnerquest.com might get Low $xxx
Don't think it was Germany (who came) calling. I think the person was based in the USA as I am sure I either looked up either the IP address or simply did a whois on his/her email address. It was $ (dollars) rather than € (euros). I think I will set-up a small directory of romance/introduction agencies on the domain and see what happens. I have not done this adsense lark before so that will be interesting to find out what it entails. Lot of work for little money knowing my luck !!
You always get low reseller return for the names you actively go out selling and the best prices when the buyer contacts you themself. Low $x,xxx was a good end user offer for this name, which you should have taken. For resellers this name is worth $100 - $250 imo.
