If you submit an article to 50 directories, will you get penalized for duplicate content if its the same article?

duplicate content is never good. as far as SEO i am not totally sure but I think it would penalize you as duplicate content. But as far as getting backlinks it is pretty good way.

not sure if it has been done, but if there is a article submitter that would submit multiple different articles and re write the articles in multiple ways then that would be pretty powerful program

    Ok well,
Submitting your article to many directories will not hurt your site for duplicate content, unless you have the article posted on your website as well. So to avoid that, you should have articles which you use strictly for promotion. Do not use the same articles on your website to distribute to article directories.

As far as the program for submitting and re writing.......

I dont know of a program that will do that for each directory, although with my article submission service we can write 1 article and then rewrite it many times to make it safe content to display on your site as well as promote and distribute!

Just to update everyone on thing which I have done lately....

An article which I have written and posted on just a few sites has already brought me a nice amount of traffic. I used some writing techniques which I have learned through reading various posts in forums about viral marketing. These articles ignite the readers imagination and leave them wanting more! You want people to want more, and actually to be succesful you usually need them to want more! So try writing your next article with that in mind.:D

JetSpinner + JetSubmitter or Article Post Robot. A bit time consuming to write the article in a way that it spins well though.

I am wondering about this issue at the moment. I am exploring article submission for SEO and to build backlinks. If you take the approach with the above spining tools, it will take a good 5 - 8 times longer than just writing and article and mass submitting it.

I wonder if it is better to just writie 5 articles and get them submitted to 100s of article directories or put the same time into 1 spun article.

Would all dependend on the degree that the duplicate content filter would remove the value of the links.

    What do you guys think?

Write reviews and make sure that when people click on YOUR site and not your product site that they see lots o banners for the product you just reviewed.

You gain credibility if you have good info on your site and if its a product that people want they will usually purchase from you.

I think the hardest part of this is finding the right kind of sites to submit your articles and quick tips to.

What I do is use one keyword(s) at a time. Like "dating advice." I then scour one page at a time looking for good sites to send a proposal to. I'll do this on X amount of pages. Then I move on to the next keyword.

Use http://compete.com to see roughly how many visitors a site gets. It's not accurate, of course, but it puts you in that ballpark. If a particular site has, say, under 25,000 hits, I don’t bother submitting anything.

Now, of course, there may actually be three times that much, but I don't know, and I just don't want to fool with it. That's just me. There are just so many hours in a day.

Many submit their articles to "article submitters." These submit your articles to an array of sites. Not many of these work. You are better off doing it yourself.

Let's not forget the sites that accept articles. GoArticles, iSnare, Helium, EzineArticles, WordPress, ArticleAvenue, SearchWarp.com and ArticleTrader, ArticleDashboard are some you can look into.

    Do a search for more.

I don't care if you have a site on, oh, web hosting. You can write an article on it (or, for that matter, on anything). It could be a tutorial, or a funny story. Then put your URL on the bottom.

You remember Reader's Digest, right? They have a section in there on letters from readers on the funny things that have happened to them or somebody they know. With that in mind, you could even be an affiliate for clothes and write an article. Find a funny story on something of clothes, or whatever.

Just submit something, anything to sites out there. It could be funny, interesting, or maybe facts on stuff, and then put your name and URL at the end of your articles, or tid bits of info.

It doesn't have to be anything about your site. You just wanted to share it. Then put your name and URL on the bottom, and then ask them to share the article with others.

Here are a couple of things you can talk about, and then submit them to various Websites:

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=614566.

    http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?t=518730.

Look for such stuff. Collect them, and store them somewhere to use for future use.

It doesn’t have to be anything long. Just talk about it a little bit.

You can move it up a notch by advertising such articles. Don’t advertise JUST your site but the good stuff in it!

But first get others to critique them. Friends, coworkers, message board members....

Make people laugh. Put a smile on their face, or have them go "I didn't know that," and they may like you enough to click on your URL. People are more prone to buy from others they like, even if they really don't need it.

And don't forget offline sources, like newspapers. Target the smaller ones, too, as many readers like them because these types of papers seem more friendly, and down to earth.

Put in weekly tid bits, just like when doing it online.

Lastly, since many like to read others’ comments, you could put in the end of your article asking them to comment about it. Give them a link that goes to such a page. You will not only get people wanting to comment but also the ones who are curious what others are thinking.

All my websites are promoted chiefly through article marketing and bum marketing. I have had numerous days where I've made $400-$500 per day just through that method and make up to $5000.00 per month while I work full time in my day job so it can be done but there is consistent effort required.

    Warmly

    Thats not a real claim!

It's bogus, they only have a couple posts here on DP, they are just promoting something:D

BTW I have developed a new way of using articles to promote, especially using articles to make adsense income.

I build my own article directory, I then add my articles to my own directory in the appropriate category, i then promote each article using longtail keywords which are easily obtainable on google page 1, so each article basically makes page 1 on google with 1 or more keywords. :D

Through link building the search engines pick up my articles organically and then I just put adsense on all my pages and I have a new auto source of income!

I havnt entered the market of articles yet. I am trying to built up some content before I do. Yet when i do enter, I believe it will help my forum in some way, either backlinks or increasing the traffic tthata it sends to my site.

An idea i was thinking to do was
To make a marco submitter to article sites and submit tons of Articles

Yes most Article sites and directories will allow you to include an affiliate link in the bio box. There have been many people who have and still do make a nice income through article marketing and affiliates. I recommend that you write articles for your websites to get picked up by search engines. Then you write similar subject articles and distribute them with your affiliate link. That way you dominate your chosen niche, as far as search engine content.:D
