you are right, you may buy some sitewide links if somebody is still losing money selling them instead of selling links from each page. I think I will make a follow-up thread about selling sitewide links.

 

Nice tips. The only one I don't agree with is the one where you need to start with PR 0-1 links and not aim high.

I believe you can control IBLs through the quality/quantity of your content. Crappy sites always come in as natural links at some point, so that PR 0-1 cushion is assured. With link exchange, we need to work for higher authority sites. At least that's my philosophy

This are the basics of web marketing. Basically you're saying to prefer quality rather than quantity. Anyway the tips are very good and I'm sure that anyone that follows them can get a good placement on any search engine.

But still people tend to buy links from high ranking page as well as site wide links. The link sales continues to be a thriving business despite being disliked by google. Why?

 

Because it works!

Here is the thing: Google don't want you to buy links because their entire algorithm is based on back links.

The more websites are linking to your site - the better position in SERPs your site has.

The importance of PageRank is close to zero just because the entire PR thing was created by Google to fool people. If you think that PR is everything, then Google has succeeded in fooling your brain.

PR is nothing! If you don't believe me, just check any website, that has TOP positions in SERPs by any keyword. You will be very surprised to find out that every website that has TOP positions has lower PR than any website that has lower positions.

Do you know why? I tell you why!

Even PR0 website can get TOP positions in SERPs by getting an enormous amount of backlinks.

I'm searching on Google for "text link ads", "text links", "buy text links" and your website doesn't seem to be coming up on the first few pages. If you're not on the first or second page it doesn't really matter.
