Vista comes in basic, premium and ultimate..right?

Office 2007 is another piece of %%^* mess to. Stay with 2003 until the kinks are worked out.

Hi SFOD ... right, enterprise, business and ultimate. I seem to have installed enterprise, with options to move up. Right! Good advice, will stick with 2003, even though I can use it. An so tired, after 7 hours of dealing, with this %$#@, that I'm losing it. Thanks, again, my friend.

Well, IMO, Windows XP is still worth to use.

Hi All ... thanks for the feedback. Tried re-installing T-bird and FireFox, but neither work in the copy of Vista I have. It was a good idea, though. I called Microsoft Pay-4-Service, but Vista is handled by IT people, who only work 9 am to 5 pm, M-F. Can't even pay for help!

Computer goes into the shop, tomorrow, to either get Vista working or revert back to XP, without losing apps or documents. Apparently, can be done, for money.

Guess the IE7 problems, I had a week or two ago, presaged this fine mess.

    Ugh.

    Thanks to all.

Hi All ... to get back, momentarily, to the original idea for this thread. Cost me $700, almost to salvage the damage done by Vista. Part, of course, was getting it done fast, but had to buy new copy of XP Pro and Office 2007, to start from scratch. Office 2003 not available. Such is life. Guess the IE7 problem, of a couple of weeks ago, was sagacious. Thanks for all the help, ideas and stuff: much appreciated.

    Thanks for all. Take care.

    are you on crack ?

office 07 is great, and for the longest time you could get a free copy.
As for vista, it runs fast on my machine.. My suggestion to all those bitchin about vista, spend more then 500$ on a new machine and the latest OS will run fine. ;)

Hi ... yielded to MS and spent a small fortune to restore computer to full working condition. Didn't have time or mind set to do it myself. Thanks for all the input. It's much appreciated. Take care.
