Hello all! I am currently new to internet marketing. I am using freewebs.com right now till I become more experienced. Freewebs allows you to add a meta tag to your head section, however, this tag shows for all of your pages! Hence you only have 1 meta tag per account. I'd like to know if it is possible to redirect your <Head> section to your <body> section of the html. Maybe it would work if I include some .txt document or place <meta> tags in some coding in the body. I really need to put different meta tags for each of my pages, because my site is very diverse. No, you can't put the head tag inside the body, that would be invalid HTML. Besides, I'm not sure that search engines really bother with meta keywords anymore, I suspect they place far more emphasis on the actual content of the page (I don't use meta tags for keywords on any of my sites and it doesn't seem to do them any harm at all).
A good suggestion for you: Google doesn't bother much with meta tags anymore. Thus, a generic meta tag for all your sites that encompasses your KW is fine. 3 suggestions for you (after visiting your website): *Split the site up, you should target 1 theme/topic for best success. *Move your google ads towards your content (i.e. right into the main pages) and blend the links in more. *Delete the 20 + odd forums on your message board, just keep 1 forum open until you grow to at east 500 members. The biggest mistake webmasters make is having 100 forums with 10 members, it's just not feasible.
Thanks allot for your quick response pwaring and manofwar! I think I'll really listen to that advise because where ever I search on this topic, the always said that meta tags cannot be placed in the body section. Even if it is done, with one script, I found, the tag won't be picked up by search engines. I'll try to focus more on my site content instead. Also yes I'll try to focus better on particular topics. What I really planned to do, was to split up the each topic to a different site. Like have 10 websites and continue to expand each. Since I currently have $0.00 i cannot afford to by enough domains and set up individual sites yet. Plus I don't have sufficient content yet on any one topic to call it a site. So I hoped by putting the topics together for the while, till I build up some members would help. Also with the forum I was trying something similar, I was going to try to get people willing to become moderators to put articles and topics on my forums to help it grow. But I understand what you are saying ManofWar. I really have too many forums. I'll try making entirely separate forums instead and work on one at a time. It's all about time too. @ Erthy: I really don't know if freewebs supports php include, but I will check this out. @ manofwar: Thanks loads for the great list! However the topics I have chosen for my site are the ones I really have a great deal of knowledge about. I don't really fancy BioChem too much I really want to get my site pushed forward and make my income from the internet rather than being a biochemist. I will continue my studies for now for safety of an education. But I will scrutinise your list and see if I could come up with a good niche from one. I really like health and fitness and know loads about it, also biblical research. So those will be my main sections. But I will keep my mind open. Thanks!
