Look at the link then mate, they are a German company, I personally have been with for 2 years and have 2 accounts, I recieve 6TB of bandwidth per month, actually I get 120GB limit per day, wanna see my stats for one of my sites? Servage are one of the worst hosts I've ever used! They allow small sites, but if you start getting anything like a lot of hits, they warn you, then take you off air. On the plus side, the support is first rate.
What you are promoting on the main forum is an affiliate link, frankly speaking the "top ten" of most web hosting review companies have basically what you are offering and more. Please read through the rules, promoting affiliate posts are not allowed in the forum, though it is allowed to have affilate links in the signature. 3000GB/mth is about 10mbps which is blatant overselling in the first place. The config you describe is even more than a average dedicated server specs and at 1/10 or lesser the prices, simple maths tell us this is impossible.
I wish people would stop calling me a liar and look at the bl00dy facts!! YES IT IS 3TB which is 3000GB Per Month for £4.50 per month, phone them up, email them, look at the site, look at my stats, get more stats if you want, test the thing out!- I'VE BEEN WITH THEM 2 YEARS AND GET OVER 60GB PER DAY DOWNLOAD ON AVERAGE (Check the screen shots). And yes Jacob, I know what you mean by if you exceed the bandwidth 120GB per day on one individual account, they do take you off the air, for a few hours at the most usually, so if you're gonna EXCEED 120GB per day, you'll need more than one account and to distribute the bandwidth wisely across your accounts. Also I've had around 960,000 hits in a week and it was actually fine, it's the transfer that cocks it up, when it goes over the 120GB in 24hrs on one account, like I said.... It's one HELL of a lot cheaper than a dedicated server. Wisdom, there is no 'Impossibility' about it, JUST HAVE A LOOK AT THEIR SITE, THEY HOST OVER 150,000 SITES FOR A REASON! (Sorry if this is in the wrong place BTW, please move it to the correct place if it is, although it isn't actually so much as an affiliate link as a promotion code. I can't make money off it, just free hosting...)
I agree their cheap, great for a small website, but you can't start comparing them to dedicated servers. I hosted 1 small proxy on Servage.Net and got banned straight away. On a dedicated server, you could host 3 or 4 very large proxies with ease.
even hostgator is crap.. they offer Shared 6000GB bandwidth for only 7$ and when u go to reseller u see 250GB bandwidth price is 24$+ LOL Shared hosting are all over sale.. they are there to fool ppls and noobs Expect to host small blogs and forums on shared hosting.. never do proxy or arcade or many visitors engadged sites on shared hosting.. shared are craps like a public bus or train and private car is a dedicated..
HostGator is great - if you sign up not expecting to use all the bandwidth they claim to offer. Been with them 12 months plus and their uptime and support has been great. You get what you pay for.
Didn't we already determine shared hosting was crap? Hostgator is a great host. I have them for my dedicated servers, and they have TOP NOTCH customer support and reliability. Don't bash them based on the fact that their shared hosting package.
all the shared hosting are over sellers.. hostgator no exception when they cant offer the bandwidth in shared hosting.. they redirect to a page saying site experiencing difficulties..
The only reason these companies advertise their shared hosting services with 6000 GB BW/month, and 1 TB storage is because they know that the average Joe will never use more than 10 GB BW/month, and 4 GB storage. First time I tried a proxy on a shared hosting account my account was closed in less than 2 days. Although the BW I used was only 18 GB...
