How to create a Google Site Map?

Officially announced on June 6th 2005 at Google blog, Google Site Map allows webmasters to submit a listing of all the urls for spiders to crawl easily.

Questions pertaining to creating a Google Site Map has been asked many times and i decided to publish an article on creating the site map using the non-Python way :

Firstly, create a text file and rename it to sitemap.xml
Next, insert the following code with any HTML text editor :

I think it would be easier if you used http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/

 

Just go and sign with the www.freesitemapgenerator.com . It is free!
Then give your site url. That's all! The tool will take care of everything and it will generate the required code. Just download, save as sitemap.xml and upload to your server and then submit to google (by logging to your google webmaster tool account)

 

There are webmasters out there that do not wish to include some pages into it.
Auto Generator is good but has its limitations in such cases. Any way the above mentioned sites are nice generators especially www.xml-sitemaps.com

I've used xml-sitemaps and like it. I even paid for the unlimited version as I needed more then 500 pages.
