I Thought iTrader was just for Buyers/Sellers

    After reading this thread:
Negetive iTrader Recived, Am i Wrong or Not

I noticed the OP has received iTrader from someone who was neither the seller or buyer. I thought you had to be directly involved in a deal to post any iTrader.

This is what I read in the FAQs:
    iTrader 101 - Part I
The process of posting iTrader also has the member stating whether they were a "buyer", "seller", or "trade":
There was also no deal agreed upon within that thread... thus no seller or buyer. So can members be posting iTrader as only a participant in such a thread ? Or should they have used the "reputation" option instead ?

PS: I would of preferred posting this in the relevant thread... but it was already locked up without any explanation given and which brought up my question.

you don't have to actually participate in a deal thread to make a deal.
i have many iTraders where i bought something but didn't post in the
    deal thread.

You don't need to post in the thread to be able to leave itrader.

Yes I'd agree with people here, the ITrader just requires you to post the URL of the dealt thread. You may just say 'Pm'd you' and complete the deal via PM with no reference to what the deal is going on. And then leave ITrader afterwards when the task has been accomplished.

You do not need to post in the thread, in fact, simply posting "PMed you" can often result in an infraction for making a post without content.

I know you don't have to post in the thread but I always thought there had to be a thread to refer to in order to leave iTrader?

The guy that left the negative iTrader was beat out in bidding and left a red mark. IMHO, that is not a completed deal to begin with. Had he won or been the highest bidder then that may have changed matters, but as it stands, if not winning a bid is grounds for leaving red itrader, then I'm off to prove a point, as I've lost plenty of bids.

The other guy is in the wrong but the mods won't do anything because they don't get involved in business transactions.

Just tell the person who got the iTrader that its ok and people will understand why he got the itrader and no one will hold it against him.

No actual deal went through, the person leaving the iTrader was NOT the bid winner. That moves it beyond a simple member dispute and pushes it over into system abuse. Imagine if you put up an auction and had 20 bidders. Now imagine if the first 19 left negative iTrader.

If this is not corrected on the part of Digital Point it can set a precedence that will undermine the entire point of the iTrader to begin with.
