From what I understand, if you install the Alexa toolbar and put the Alexa widget on your site, it will increase your Alexa rank. Not sure what the * thing is though? Also, I understand from searching this forum that Alexa rank is easily manipulated if you were to put some effort in it.

PR tells the relevance of every web pages, it ranges from 0-10 that each represents the weight of relevance of every web pages,. It major basis is the quality IBLs site's gaining so in order to increase, earn tons of it

Alexa ranking is a traffic/visitor ranking tool. The lower the number the better. PR measures the inbound links.

alexa is a measure of traffic for those with the alexa software installed (plugins or toolbar). Only webmasters use it, so its a good measure for webmaster sites but crap for other sites.
