Major doubt on Wikipedia

    Gang,
I need someone to clarify my doubts on Wikipedia.

Say; if a wiki contributor writes an article on xoxo topic, he needs to mention the links for reference; right? Now, if he happens to be the owner of some website which deals with the same xoxo topic, can he mention his own website there?

In other words, how does a site quality to get mentioned in wikipedia? Is there anything the site owner can do in his powers to make wikipedia link to his site for a relevant story? Coz, there are a few topics in Wikipedia which are classified as stub, so if a small website with less traffic has a good article which can help the writer expand that stub in wiki, can the site owner let wikipedia know that his article could be used there as a reference?

I'd appreciate a detailed explanation. Thanks in advance for your time. :)

Wikipedia is a website where millions of people share their knowelegde.
If that person makes an article, not a stub, but a good article and adds a link to his own website, it's nothing wrong. As long as he isn't making a spam-like article, and his website is related to the article.

(a stub is not-finished article, like one with a few sentences)

As lonk as the website is relevant and useful (by useful I mean it contains information on the topic) there is nothing wrong in putting your link.

Wikipedia has been using nofollow for some time so backlinks from them will not count.

Yeah, but as for Wikipedia... I don't think that backlinks are the issue here; it's the traffic that Wikipedia can bring.
