10k/year is nothing. A minimum wage worker here will easily make $15k+/year.

Like everyone said, it depends on what you're using that $10K on.

$10K well invested is not a lot of money.... $10K for a bowl of cereal is ridiculous. I have a buddy who spent $100,000 for a one-month vacation, yet he would still think $10,000 for a dozen roses is a little out of hand.

Yes, $10,000 is a lot of money...in Mexico.

I guess it all depends on what you mean. $10,000/day/month/year? Per day is considered a good amount of money. Even per month is good, but definitely not per year and most definitely not on a dessert! I'd rather spend the money on a woman.

I think only someone who was born in to wealth will think that $10,000 is not a lot of money. Most people who became wealthy through their own hard work will have a much better appreciation for the value of money.

I take it that the thread author wants to know if there is anyone here who can spend $10,000 on something without hurting their pocket. That, $10,000 is petty cash to them.

If I could make $10,000 a year on a website, I'd move to Thailand and retire.

Really?? I have been thinking about that actually. Making $10k a year on a website (or internet work) is quite easy.

On the UtahLuxury.com website $10,000 wouldn't even get you a down payment. Unfortunately even on a starter home anymore $10,000 wouldn't be enough for a down either.

But if you are smart about it, $10,000 will get you into a nice house someday if you invest that money today and then continue to invest until you have enough for what you wanted in life.

The thing about it is that US dollars go a lot further in other countries. Like for example, you can get a fully furnished, apartment, all utilities, internet, phone, in Montevideo, Uruguay for $250US/month. Most people in the "Western World" pay much more then that.

You'd be living in a foreign country, but you'd still be making American money. You just work a few hours a day, goto the beach with a case of beer. Eat at high class restaurants everyday, and party every night.

as farfetched as this might sound. That kind of a routine will get boring after awhile. Anything done in repetition will get boring.

Depends what did you have to do for that ten thousand in addition to how much money you currentley have...just depends but in general 10k to most people is a nice sum of money.

There are guys that make that in a day so for them they are not a lot of money

For me is like 3 months earnings :) so not a disaster or a huge sum of money but i can't say they aren't a lot

I personally try not to think that $10,000 is a lot of money. I would not say I'm rich by any means, but I consider it sort of a state of mind thing. If you constantly think $10,000 is a lot of money you mentally place it out of reach. You think it would be ridiculous to make $10,000 in a day...much less an hour. But many people do just that.

I used to think a $1000 was a lot of money, but after reading stevepavlina's blog about mental barriers to making money, I resolved to stop thinking that. Now making a $1000 is a walk in the park. I still have a mental hurdle at numbers like $10000 or $50,000....but I'm working on it.

Its all relative on how much money you make and have... I just lost over $4000 playing some poker. I'm ok with it lol

I think its relative also, there are "whales" that can blow 10k in a casino like it's nothing, yet I would be pissed if I lost $100. I also remember watching that Hulk Hogan show, and he was saying how there always missing like $30k-$50k in there account but they don't even notice it because they have so much money. I think it's really relative to how much value money, and also how much you have.
