I know there may be no answer to this but let me briefly explain: We own several websites that rank very well on Google and Yahoo. In fact, for some of our most important keywords we come up on page one and two. However, one of our websites was ranking on the first page for the term "make a website". This is an important keyword for us. When I go to google.com and search this we now come up on page two #13. We were #10 for some time on the first page. If I look at other datacenters, we come up #9 on most of them. My question is threefold: 1) Do most users see the results of google.com or some other datacenter? I was never quite clear on how this works. 2) I am concerned that we have over done the anchor text "make a website" and that now we are being penalized. Is there anyway to know this? If I look at Google and search the anchor "allinanchor:make a website" we come up #3. 3) If we are being penalized for overusing this, is there a way to rectify this? Thanks for your help, Scott
1. if you really want to see your real SERP you must have to look other DC's, like the one on mcdar tools... 2. you are not penalized, it is normal to view that. mybe it's a fluck...
Thanks for the input. I hope it is a flook but when we were on page 1 we saw a large increase in traffic but now that we went to page 2 it has dropped so that is why I thought most people use google.com rather than other datacenters? I may be misunderstanding how the Google actually works. Where is the one at tool you mentioned at "mcdar tools"? Thank you, Scott
Oh, ok. I already used this and as I said, we come up on page 1 number 9 and all datacenters there except the google.com which we are number 13 page 2. Why? Thanks guys, Scott
