Cheap does not always mean best deal. Most cheap domain sites let you get one cheap for first year then charge you more for years after that. I preffer hosting and domain from same site.

I have always had the best of luck with Namecheap. They are reasonable with free Whois privacy and they are easy to manage and transfer with a free push. You can normally find a coupon code to save you money also. I used several other including GoDaddy and Yahoo and I have been most pleased with NameCheap.

Just make sure that you take it from a reputable company.

You have Dynadot, domainsite, godaddy, namecheap, enom, moniker, register.com - there are plenty of them to choose from.

    You can try

    Name.com
Each new domain registration for $5.99

    Mydomain.com
Each new / renewals domain registration for $7.6 with coupon code "htmli.info"

    dynadot.com
Each new / renewals domain registration at only $8.99, and you can delete your domain within 5days if you want.

I don't suggest you register domain with yahoo small business. Reason? use search function to do a research. :)

Moniker is your best bet in my opinion, not the cheapest, far from it, but very secure, worth the extra few cents.

Moniker is quite good, Godaddy are ok with a coupon, Mydomain.com are very good with coupon "bargaincat.com" for discount. Mosts registers that are mentioned are all fine, some offer better features than another, I prefer to use a register with good bulk management features and interface.

    namecheap.com and godaddy.com

if you choose godaddy, i am a reseller and knock the domain registrations down to no commissions.
