I have purchased a custom domain through godaddy, and followed the blogger instructions for creating a new cname for my godaddy registered domain. However it did not work and I contacted the support and they said: Thank you for contacting Online Support. Unfortunately we cannot support the creation of custom CNAMEs because we cannot confirm that the information enter is correct , per the setup procedures for your blog's hosting provider. To ascertain if the information you have entered is correct you will need to contact Google. Instructions for creating a custom CNAME are below. You may add new CNAMEs for your domain name within your account in the Total DNS control panel. -what does this mean?
It is not difficult. Use FTP to solve the issue. I have done the samething in one of my blog. Travel Blog.
i have done that for simple-tricks.blogspot.com Just create a Cname record with name www and ghs.google.com as host name You can also use the blog as a subdomain in that case use the subdomain name as the name and ghs.google.com as host name See http://help.blogger.com/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=58317 After that just wait a day or 2 for the changes to take effevt Now in blogger Goto>Settings>Publishing and use your custom domain there may be www.yourblog.com or subdomain.yourblog.com if you are using the www thing check the redirect box below.. Hope this helps you.. Ftp needs your own host.. but using this you don't need another host.. You just need a domain say at godaddy..
thanks for all the help susan8051, it is very much appreciated. But can you please resend me the picture, because I can not see the image
i have uploaded it to imageshack and sent it to you once again.. i doont know why tinypic doesn't work for you
ok fine.. but you have some problems with http://blogaboutauto.com/ Use the redirection in Blogger.. that may help..
i have used forwarding in godaddy to forward http://bloggerplugins.org to http://www.bloggerplugins.org and i also used the forwarding option in blogger Settings>Publishing... It took some days for the effect to take place... Really not sure which change made it work..
