Help with an indexing problem

I'm new at this so I'm still tinkering with stuff. Anyways, my blog has been up for a couple of weeks now. It has been indexed and of course searching in google for "mysitename" gave my page as #1. Today though, all of a sudden it has disappeared and only post pages within my blog are listed. I noticed my main homepage "mysitename.com" only appears through viewing "omitted results." This was pretty upsetting to me today, but it's okay since I'm still learning.

Why does something like this happen? I immediately suspected my sitemap plugin for wordpress, and I reset the values to make sure I hadn't changed anything. Sometimes I start messing with stuff in the middle of the night and who knows what happens. Could I have caused this by giving too much weight to my post pages instead of my main site? Or, is this some other issue that I have to address?

Just to be clear, my site was already indexed, and it was #1 when searching for its name. Now it is gone. I am wondering why this happened. I haven't been doing anything sketchy or spamming anything. I suspected that it may have been some settings I was messing with in the xml sitemap generator plug in. Could this cause a homepage to be kicked from the main results page into the "omitted" results page?

Try to get links from frequently updated site like forums and social bookmarking for frequently indexing of your site.

indexing speed is related with the backlinks.

    you must find more backlinks.

and one more question: what's your site age?

The site is very new. Only about 3 weeks or so. I'm just learning the ropes right now, but I got surprised when my homepage just stopped showing up when it was showing up as #1 for the past few weeks. Only internal pages in the site are now showing up, and not my homepage. The homepage is stuffed into the "omitted results" area.
