Does anyone on here use an ad program based on impressions and not clicks? I run a pretty popular site and recently a company approached me about placing an ad on my site. They offered a 4 dollar CPM on the banner ad, which equals out to a lot of friggin money for me. It almost sounds too good to be true. Thoughts? I mean it can't hurt to try it, I'm just trying to figure out what people's thoughts are on this. Also my site does not run Adsense, I run ads on a monthly basis from some companies in the action sports field.
try tribalfusion.com & cpxinteractive.com they are good payers. I make $2k per month from both websites
$4 CPM is verry good actually. i would suggest you to do a little research on the company and try them for a while. and if you have that many page impressions, you can sign up for adsense as well to see which one earns better
Yeah, I'm definitely trying it. I've tried Adsense before and it's not very good given my niche. Extremely low clicks ( everyone else involved in my niche who has run Adsense agrees with me on that ) and they pay awful ( everyone has agreed with me on that too ).
Actually, not really impression but kind of: Ads playing for 5 secs every time your visitors access your website. Info can be found at Ads playing info.
Why don't you try adsense instead of looking for only CPM based programs.. I think with this kind of traffic you can more... just try for few days and decide which makes you comfort and earns more money.. you should try different things before deciding anything..
I have tried it before, it's really bad for my niche. To put it in comparison, I know a guy who runs Adsense on a site similar to mine except he gets about a fifth of the traffic I do. He makes 100 dollars a month! Now maybe his ads could be placed better and all that, but my particular action sport has really bad pay outs and low CTRs. No thanks to Adsense.
I don't see why you don't do both CPM and click ads.. I don't understand the "either... or" ideal here, but then I'm just a little brain in the Ad stratagem area. $4 per thousand impressions however seems like a good deal. I would just look at the agreement as to what ads, specifically they will show... to me that would be very important to know up front, ... and make sure that the agreement is per-thousand-impressions and not per-thousand-unique-impressions. Those are the only two areas that I can think might be snakes in the bush. I would also make sure that we aren't talking about an agreement that I can't cancel out of at on a whim. Knowing that you can just quit putting the ads out if they turn out to be some scam artist, makes the idea much more palatable. Of course you are also wondering if they are going to pay you ... that's the risk with offers like this in any field. References is are good thing.. but I've never dealt with this area.. like I said, I'm a little brain in the stratagem areas. One idea is to go over to www.uclue.com and have a researcher check out the company for $25 ... they'll turn the net upside down looking for references, company history and complaints. Tell them webadept sent you over.. not that this will make the quality of their work any better. They are just old collages of mine.
