-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have a site that is currently in progress. You can view what is currently up at http://www.WriteInYourVote.com. I'm looking for anyone who has something to offer that would like to get on board. I need help finishing everything up. I need: graphic designers programmers flash coders investors I have a lot of content/features that have been coded already and are in the process of being added. This will all be performance-based initially, although this site will be making a lot of money once I have everything online, so that should change quickly. Depending on your skills, I'm willing to offer equity stakes or % of revenues If you're feelin what I'm doing or realize the potential to make a lot of money, PM me. Andrew DuVal __________________
I think you are going to have a hard time trying to convince people trying to get in the boat with you. I have been following your progress over at I need one dollar People aren't going to want to jump in this idea without some monetary guarantee or go off by having faith based off another's pipe dream. We all have ideas that we think will be the next big thing. I think you are stretching yourself too thin, making promises and telling people where they can place it with no true an hard facts. You telling people this is going to do this and that isnt the best way to go. You are better off raising money to pay for the labor that people put in and reap all the cash benefits yourself at the end. If you can't raise the capital via investors then maybe take the route of getting additional work. Freelancing has great money in it. I am sure if you go about this the right way, you'll come out very far ahead. Imho, Jim
Hm.. after reading that topic, count me out. I've got better things to do than to work for no profit. Good luck though with your site.
Jim, thanks for your honest opinion. I'm not interested in traditional investors. If you are really following me at YE and reading all my threads pertaining to this, then you'd know my situation concerning this and money from friends/family. I would post it all again here, but my fingers hurt. that thread you linked is not very redeeming, and is hardly the basis of my reputation at YE. I would appreciate it if you would read many of my other threads on this topic. I don't undertand why you would have chosen to link to that particular thread out of the many more relevant ones? I agree I'm stretching myself too thin, but it's only due to a lack of resources/time and I don't know what else to do. I have found a few people to work with due to this thread as well.
I don't see a business plan or investor relations area... What exactly is the premise of this website and what does it offer that isn't already available elsewhere?
Then why not go for the traditional investor that will give you the cash to then pay developers etc? Most people who go this route either have been knocked back by investors or have not done the ground work necessary to get investors interested and so hope to get developers who havent the greatest business sense to work on a potentially empty promise.
tigermedia: my company is not publically traded (yet?). There are no investor relations for this reason. I can send a business plan if you'd be interested. the premise is a site where US politicians at any level of government (federal, state, local) can run a campaign. Voters can also register to show support for a Candidate or get involved in political activism. There will be a ton of other features for users to check out as well. Create political parties, interest groups, petitions, lobby congress, rank the top issues facing the country, etc. I will be adding new features like this on a weekly basis once everything is ready for launch. and we're up to speed/ready to move forward. I will also be adding a full suite of online interactivity applications to help organizations and individuals accomplish more. This includes things like Video IMs, Video conferences, etc. to help people communicate better to expedite their organizations progress. This stuff is done and ready to go. I also have a ton of other apps/ideas that will begin construction once everything I've discussed has been implemented. I've also got my secret weapon app that will launch within the next few months, and will ensure that people who normally aren't interested in politics will become involved. This will also ensure that my traffic continues to grow after the 2008 elections are over and people's attention turns from US politics. Basically, Write In Your Vote will be the one-stop destination for anything politically-related in the US by next year. I am going to become an authority site in this niche whether you like it or not, I promise you this so to conclude, that is what will be available that isn't anywhere else.
