Tinyurl is the best to use imo.... You can do a hundred of them and they are short.....But I have heard of people afraid to click those kinds...
Is there a way to make an affiliate linked URL appear to be a top domain URL? For example, http://digitalpoint.com/a?=23422112 would appear to be http://digitalpoint.com?
I know what you did there was <a href="http://digitalpoint.com/a?=23422112">http://digitalpoint.com</a> I mean in the status bar of the web browser, bottom left, when you rollover a link the entire URL is displayed.
haha I figured you knew that...But I wasnt sure.... Well im sure you can do it in java, but not on your sig link or anything like that.... but maybe you can, i would love to know....
I usually buy a related domain to what I want to promote and set up a php redirect so it looks like it's a real link. I find that it's the best way as people don't even know its an affiliate link.
If you have a domain you can dedicate to the link and your host supports it you can have he host redirect the link and it is totally transparent and does not require a script. I do this sometimes with 1and1 as my hosting company.
Why the heck would you waste a domain like that? Make your link to a sub page such as yourdomain.com/ebook.php so it looks just like another internal link in your site then do a redirect from the ebook.php page to your ebook affiliate URL.
I use a dedicated domain primarily for offline marketing like business cards and signs where I want the user to have something very easy to remember and type.
sweetfunny, for $7 or whatever, it's well worth it. Looks a lot more legitimate as people won't suspect that you're getting something out of it. Try it out.
Well i've got around xx,xxx domains, and at least a thousand for sale right now so i don't really need to buy anything. I just don't get why you would use a separate domain for each affiliate link when your could just do the redirect from a page on the current site such as MySite.com/product.php I've got something like 30-40 different affiliate links, seems like a nightmare keeping track of what site redirects to what domain and to what affiliate link if you ask me.
to hide status text you could use hover class in CSS. But i'd agree with the rest the best way to hide aff is 301
