how much to invest for an online "thing" that would bring steady income?

I'm just seeking different options and would like to know is there anykind of service or website or ANY thing online (but not anything illegal or gambling related) that I could invest money for and that would bring me steady income (approx. $1000-2000) for every month?

And the question is: If there is, how much I have to invest?

Building Adsense website, affiliate site or similar by my own is out of question because of the lack of time, skills and devotion I have to put in to it. I know these kind of websites must be done for care and properly. I could outsource building such a website, but I think I just would have to outsource the whole project from start to end: from niche resarching/finding, to domain searching to content to article writing to SEOing... everything.

So, what are my options here? IS there anything? :)

Start a blog... Within 2 months of actual... work I am making $900 a month... Soon that figure, I hope, will be much higher... Just make sure your traffic keeps increasing... There is no "simple method" You really need to create unique content and go at it...

Domains with type in traffic are good, but expensive.

So basically you want free money without doing any work?

    I don't think such a thing exists.

Try look for partners - you do the investment the other partner do the works. Well I'm not so sure if you could get that investment back in the first month though. If you have that much money play forex.

No, not at all! Don't get me wrong. I'm not lazy! :) Of course I'll do what I can. I'm just looking for a way to get things started a bit easier as I've been struggling with putting up profit generating website. I'm just thinking would it be easier to get things on going putting little money in to it. Like a simple website for example: finding a niche and writing a content is hard. Finding a GOOD profitable niche and writing a GOOD content is very hard, and after all, that's the whole key to succesful website right? Right niche and matching content. Then of course there's such thing as do I have to know my chosen niche inside out before I can write good content about it? Naturally. How can you write anything interesting and unique from something you're not interested and don't know nothing about? Moreover, how to write SE optimized? How to write so that peopl keep coming back? What about Adsense? Should I use it or not and if I do how to place it right? How about affiliates? There's just so much stuff that needs to be done exactly right before a site can bring in a profit that it has begun to feel a rocket science lol :)

So here comes the investment. Maybe outsourcing such things? Dunno. Or maybe buying a proxy site or outsource someone to put it up? Or something similar. Dunno. And how much would all this cost? Or would it be worth to do it a bit harder way: learn by mistakes :p

Just sarching different options here, not lazying around! I'm doing hard manual labour 8 hours a day (been doing so like 11 years and I'm 27) and just lurking for a possible alternatives that are reasonably achieved.... if there is any :)

Buy an established site that is already earning income. Check out Sitepoint for some good ones.
Prepare to pay $xxxxx if you want it to be earning 4 figures a month already.

    Hello,

I checked out your Political Lore blog. You have a PageRank of 1, and have 15 feed subscribers, and you're making $900 a month??? How is this possible? How does your blog earn this much? My blog is a PR 3 with 330 feed subscribers, and I don't even make that much.

If you don't have webmaster skills, writing skills, or time to learn them, then your main option would be to invest in someone who does, and buy a part of their business. But without a real knowledge of the internet, and particularly how long it can take for projects to get going and for marketing to reap rewards, you may be investing a bit blindly. In other words, there may be far better ways for you to invest your money, ways that don't involve you gambling it all on websites that may end up making you nothing.

I would say that your best bet would be to buy an established site that is already earning an income. The average price is around 12 x monthly income, so its not cheap. You also have to watch out because people will have one good month and then try to sell the site at 12x that one good month... very risky if you ask me. But if you are patient, you can find a good site that fits your skills. Sitepoint has a good marketplace for this.

If you do buy a site, make sure you do your due dilligence-make sure it is making what the seller says it is making, and getting the traffic that is advertised-I have been burned more than once. So, buying a site or developing a site - each one has its risks.

I think you need to be careful if buying an established website... a website that doesn't receive constant care and updates goes stale and eventually dies out. That means that you would have lost any profit and your initial investment.

You might want to invest in a good traffic domain. This is VERY hard to find and VERY expensive... it's a gold mine though and well worth the investment if you've got the cash. Traffic is usually steady, growing and type-in so ANY kind of website or SEO will only make it better and profitable. The domain is also not likely to lose value so you can make a profit when you sell.

The third suggestion I'd give you would be to come up with a good idea for a small piece of software, it doesn't have to be original, just a little better/easier/fun than what's already out there... then pay someone to build it. You can make a simple website and have someone help with SEO and marketing. If it's good, it'll start selling and if you offer affiliate commissions you can have hundreds of other people selling it. The profit is crazy, but it's probably the hardest to execute, and a bit risky.

    Hope you find your path.
