You need to blend the ad unit that is under the 'link unit' into the content, I would use 2 ad-unit after the first paragraph of your content.

Your content is pretty good and I read it. But if I was a surfer and opened your page I would have hit the back space button.

To me the idea it to interest the reader so that they stay on your page. As they find interesting ads they click on them and then return to your page to do more clicking. You also get repeat visitors and clicks on the skyscaper ads.

The little links at the top don't have a good CTR and pay very bad.(at my sites)
If I was you I would replace them by a leaderbord (728*90) and put the 300*250 ad under a bit of content.

Just try different ad placements and keep the one that works best for you.
    Nice site by the way.

you need to adjust the colors in your blog. text of your adsense links need to match with the content text for better result. also, on your right column, try making the background white as the rest of the body which should give you more clicks as well.

since you just launched the blog, most important thing to do now is to do link building. traffic will come over time

i can see why. its not adsense. its your poor positioning and add blending. There is to many colors for that theme. Try a white background. Make every bit of the text black. And then make every bit of the adsense adds black.

And try two leaderboards, one at the top and bottom and a large rectangle on the right hand side. :)

I would suggest trying other ad networks (you can run both Adsense and somebody else together)... or even affiliate advertising. Google does not pay as much as it used to with celebrity sites and there seems to be many others here doing the same. There's lots of great info on other advertising networks within this forum.

The low ctr may have something to do with smart pricing

make the color of ad title same as the post tile and description and url of the ad as black. Also insert the rectangle ad after ur first post.People get fed up of seeing the ads first.Let them read ur content first and later come to ur ad.

In my case... I am getting a 0.18% CTR and averaging .07 per click (Dec). Is that low or normal ?

Celebrity blogs do NOT pay well. Each click will only be a couple of cents. You need to find a better paying niche, as well as learning how to target keywords and do keyword sniping. Honestly, if you find the right niche, you can get $10 clicks - some worth more than that. Good luck.

Sorry for the double post. If you have less than a 2% CTR on ANY of the sites you have your Adsense code on, you're probably smart-priced. Smart-pricing is what Adsense does to accounts that aren't receiving well CTR's, so their advertisers aren't wasting money. It affects ALL sites in your Adsense account, so remove your code from the sites that are performing badly, and try adding it back within a week or two - and try to improve your CTR.
