This was something I had been doing until I pack up and decided to relax and do my postgrade instead. 18 hours day job is not for human.
What worked for me was buying a house, getting married, and having kids. Nothing stops a drinking routine like being in the poorhouse.

I agree with this. Deadlifts can fix just about any life problem. Overweight? Do deadlifts. Girl Problems? Do deadlifts. Failing Math Class? Do deadlifts.
Working out and drinking does not go hand in hand. Once you get heavy into lifting the last thing you want to do is drink or smoke destroying what you worked so hard for.
if you go cold turkey it will never work, your best back is to cut back gradually and learn to love the term moderation
