Periods '.' at the End of Anchor Links

I have two simple questions that should be rather straightforward for you search engine optimization gurus to answer; the first regarding periods (‘.’) at the end in anchor links. I’m curious as to whether, if I were targeting any given ‘keyword,’ the existence of a period (‘.’) at the end of the anchor text (ie. 'keyword.') would benefit my SERPs for the keyword itself? Basically, would Google overlook the existence of the full-stop in the anchor text, and still consider it as beneficial to my SERPs for the original ‘keyword’ without the period? To put it even more differently, are anchor links with the text ‘keyword’ and ‘keyword.’ treated as equivalent?

As per my second question, when writing articles, should one target three different anchor texts or simply one per article? After all, from a SERPs’ perspective, are three outgoing links to the same website with differing anchor texts valuable? Is it better to simply place three outgoing links to any given website with the same anchor text?

the period shouldn't really effect the value of a back link. Google can ignore such things
but what is the problem to keep the period out of the anchor text anyway?

I didn't understand your second question, are you talking about writing articles that will promote
your website, each one of them containing with 3 different anchor text links to your site?
if so, then it might be a good idea, as long as the links look natural in with the rest of the text, i guess.
watch out from link spamming, it might hurt you

I'm not a guru (not at all, really), but I'm glad if I can help

Thank-you; reptuation points added! :) While submitting my website to directories, the anchor text of preference is more than often taken. This, in my opinion, is a suitable alternative for getting listed on directories that have already received submissions with the anchor text of my liking.
