http://www.antivalentine.org.uk/ I created this site a couple of years ago, just before Valentine's Day. It ranks highly in Google and gets a lot of traffic from mid-January to mid-February, so I want to make sure that it looks good before the visitors start hitting it this year. Any comments on the design, extra content which I could add (I prefer to write my own stuff, so general ideas rather than 'copy and paste this Private Label Article') and comments on the AdSense placement (not great at the moment, but it does get quite a few hits) would be appreciated. I'm also going to start a Facebook group for the site in a week or so, not sure if that will bring in any extra traffic but it doesn't cost me anything. I'm happy to reciprocate with feedback if you've posted a request for review here on DP and I haven't already replied.
I think you might need more content to bring people back again.... For a anti-valentine website.. you sure use a lot of soft loving colours... Seriously.. I was expecting a flash of a torching cupid or something...
How about adding some new sections like 10 Non Romantic Things To Do On Valentines Day ? Or add dead flowers and other disgusting gifts to the store that people can send to their ex's
That is the one thing I'm thinking about at the moment - do you have any suggestions as to what content could be added? I'm unlikely to see many repeat visitors as the site is only really interesting for about four weeks in every year - I don't expect people to come back and visit it in June and by February 2009 they'll probably have forgotten about it anyway. Yes, that's sort of the point, it's all rather tongue-in-cheek.
No, it's not under construction, it's been online for about two years now. What error message are you getting when you try to access the site, as it's working fine for me from several locations (and I run the DNS and web servers for the site, so I'd be able to tell if anything was seriously wrong).
