I agree with the article, but might I also add that just because Musharraf is better than Bhutto does not mean that Musharraf is good. They are both quite bad for India, Pakistan, and ultimately the rest of the world.

Musharraf is very pragmatic. I believe he genuinely wanted to solve the Kashmir issue via dialogue, but he was very dumb, coz he is not an elected leader. No experience with politicians is a bad thing for a leader.

Because of his inexperience in dealing with politicians, he under-estimated the fact that political leaders in both India and Pakistan are GREEDY RASCALS, who are NOT interested in any solution.

Politics in the sub-continent is a dirty game. Politicians lie and deceive like hell. Musharraf learnt a hard lesson, that you can NEVER TRUST a politician... :D

Is this thread a joke or what? Now Pakistanis will elect what the Indians will desire?

Both are/were bad for Pakistan. One was corrupt and the other is a pharoah, regardless of the fact that they were good for india or any other country for that matter.

Exactly my point, minus the good for India. Both are bad for Pakistan and the world.

Bhutto was always in it for herself and Musharraf is power-hungry.

Musharraf may be better than Bhutto, but he isn't good enough to run the country.
If you ask me, even Nawaz Sharif isn't the ideal choice.

What do you think about Imran Khan?

IMO, he may be a good cricketer, but he does not have the capability to be a successful politician, a.k.a, he is too dumb to lie like other politicians

Imran Khan may be a good man, but I don't think he is a good politician.
This is the time when he should stand up for his people and with them, he ran away and taken shelter in India.

Mush was going to kick his ass. He did the right thing. It is better to hide, than go to jail during an emergency... Atleast he could organize something from Mumbai.

I just don't understand how he came to India? How is it possible to get a visa, or even get into the airport at such a time when the whole country is under Red alert, and looking for him?

I was under the impression that Bhutto was for making peace with India and the military pushed her into hyping and continuing the arguments over Kashmir.

"Bhutto was for making peace with India and the military pushed her into hyping and continuing the arguments over Kashmir."

Keep in mind Benazir Bhutto's father said, "Our people may eat grass but we will build the (nuclear) bomb."
I don't think she was too pro peace with India. Mushy any day!

These are all politics, Bhutto is more or less playing the "Indian" Card to capture votes from the angry public.

Pakistan is getting weaker and India stronger.

The only advantage that Pakistan had was their Amercian supplied and trained airforce.

However they are losing that advantage as America is getting tired of Pakistan's monkey business.

no Pakistan's only real advantage is their guts to die in a nuclear war while taking out other nations at the same time..

they will kill tons if they had the resources, and on top of that wouldn't mind killing themselves..economically,socially,physcially....as long as they goto heaven:rolleyes:

How Mr Musharraf is managing to hang onto power is quite beyond me???

I mean I have never seen such a situation where the whole country is against you and yet you seem to go on in power!!!! Don't tell me its American support...they are unable to manage things in their own stables to worry about Pakistan.

As far as the late Ms Bhutto was concerned; agreed she had charisma and maybe she was the best alternative given the circumstances....BUT one must not forget that she was above all a POLITICIAN - a breed that changes colors faster than a chameleon.

@grab the heat...no the first nuclear button will be pushed by America...as for where..take your pick:rolleyes:
