I've been running and hosting proxies for 2+ years and provide basic management and optimization for proxies. This includes handling abuse complaints.

With Xen, overselling is not possible. All resources indicated are 100% reserved for you. All VPS's include swap partitions so even if you need more ram then you are given, your VPS won't simply kill the process like Virtuozzo. Since all resources are allocated beforehand the performance is near dedicated (<1% overhead) compared to Virtuozzo which slows down to a crawl when you need to use any of the resources.

I recently purchased a VPS hosting plan from WDServers and have been extremely pleased with the customer service and overall quality that they provide. I had a few questions concerning a domain I had parked at Godaddy and changing the nameservers, etc. and the WDServer representative on AIM answered all of my questions very promptly. Definetly sounds great. Would $20 a month be OK w/cPanel (Plan 1). I just find it hard to pay an extra $10 for something I take for granted,

Because cpanel needs at least 256MB RAM to run let alone the RAM your sites will need

With everything unnecessary disabled CPanel+OS will use around 150 megs. But that doesn't leave a lot of leeway for sites. LXadmin is probably your best bet on a VPS since it uses very little ram and is free but even so not recommended for VPS plan 128.

Proxy hosting is what I specialize at but you can host whatever you want as long as its legal. I started with proxy hosting but you can run whatever you want.

Yes I know you specalise in proxies (almost evryone knows that) I just wanted to know whether I could use your accounts for other stuff too.

I want to purchase but dont have the funds right now (havent got my cc yet.)

By the way, do you sell hosting as a loss leader or something? Because the only other people who offer rates lower than yours are either scammers or horrible oversell.

By loss leader, I meant do you sell stuff at a loss or break even point to bring in customers and earn someother way?

 

I think Anteclimax is worried that you reel people in with great prices then try to upsell high markup services. It's a strategy used by large national retail chains.

I just signed up and paid for hosting with WD today... I'm looking forward to getting my activation e-mail and getting started.

 

About the loss leader thing, what you see is what you get. I don't really try to sell any extra services. Currently the figure is that I run over 100 dedicated servers and around 60 VPS's.
