At least in this new year, we should alert or join to form a anti-spam group to expose the scammed messages to alert the fellow member.

The link was a URL of an EXACT replica of digitalpoint, but on the login page. So, when I clicked on the "thread" link, I came to a login page. Naturally, I thought I was somehow logged out, so I logged back in...

Now mind you, I usually NEVER fall for fake URL tricks, but this one was just so good... I wasn't even expecting it.

The guy was banned soon after I posted this thread. That's not to say he won't make another username.

Oh well. Just be careful around new members. If a member has under 50 posts, be very careful about the message/post.

If i have to enter my username/password manually, that means its probably not the real site.

Thats a good idea... Except then they would just do something like hxxp://site[dot]com (although should still tell them not to go there)

Better yet, you should not be able to send a PM unless you have X Posts....

You can sign up for DP currently and PM people without every making a single post here...

More than a few people recieved this pm, but it seems like its a nice hacker that gives back the money and the ids afterwards. Whats up with that?
