    Hi,

Just wanted to get any estimate ideas on a price if I was to sell a site earning $6k p/m.

    Cheers.

Depending on how long it's been earning, anywhere between 10x - 24x monthly revenue... :)

The earnings per month is not enough info for an estimation. As an example if you have a website dedicated to a certain niche, a pop star or tv show etc. It may earn nothing in 6 months when its no longer fashionable etc. Also it depends on the potential growth left in the site. Also where the traffic comes from is a factor, if its all organic search engine traffic great but if it comes from a website, what happens if they remove your link etc.

If you want an accurate estimation then you need to give much more info.

Also, how often the site needs to be updated, how much work is involved, the cost of hosting, how the site is being monetized is also a factor.

Some excellent points. Entertainment sites, especially those on individuals and any niche that may potentially go out of fashion won't attract a very good premium. On the other hand, if its an everyday topic like education, helath, etc that are likely to be as relevant in two years as now, then the potential is much greater.

Like everyone said, it depends on a number of factors. But if the revenue is consistent then you can expect 12x-24x.

It also depends on the content being legal / illegal... in other words, the risk factor

    Depends on..
    - How old the site is and the amount of historical income you have
    - stability of the income
    - nature of the website (what Shafty mentioned)
    - how easy/difficult it is to manage (e.g. sites that involve inventory keeping are less valuable on monthly/yearly
    income basis)
    - how easy/difficult to copy the website - uniqueness of the site
    - traffic referrers ( More of Direct type-ins and Search engine traffic - higher the value)

    and many, many more factors!

You would need to give lots of details of your site if you need accurate or near accurate estimate of its value

After considering all the factors listed in the posted above, it won't be less than 50k anyways ;)

well I think all depends on the buyer what he would like to pay.

example I have about 100 domainname's parked at sedo with a price tag of 9999 dollar per domain.
Last week I sold a domain for 750 dollar ...
While I did nothing with it ... so when a buyer see something in it and really wanna have it .. well then the sky is the limit.
