ive seen these bid directorys.. anyone run one and are they better than normal directorys as i see that the bids can get high thanks
It all depends on how you promote your bidding directory, they are just like normal directories where u pay more for the exposure.
but how does it start, with no pr to start then why pay for a directory. i have a pr5 site that was thinking of making a bid dir but not sure if that works
never use a pr5 domain to start a directory. use a fresh pr0 domain. it looks like you are trying to cash in on the pr5 otherwise. bid directories just like other sites provide a one way relevant backlink, so pr0 or not will still give a backlink. People can estimate the PR of a site by looking at its backlinks. Also the higher traffic bid directories will get bids when PR0 as the listed sites will benefit from the traffic/exposure.
well say goodbye to the tiny reputation you have. i and other directory owners here have spent $xxxxx promoting their directory. I have spent thousands bidding on bid directories. Using a crappy pr5 domain will not get you any business from me and the same goes for others. The "PR5" bid directory will have PR0 category pages. It wont help you get sales at all. A custom template and good promotion with a good domain will help though.

succes doesn't come overnight. you might want to offer free submissions for the first 50 links or so and then start charging $1 per link. Promote your directory as much as possible. submit to other bidding directories/directories etc. sponsor directory templates or wordpress templates Starting with your PR5 domain will not bring you any money because everyone will see that it's a dropped domain name and that your page rank will be gone on the next pr update
i dont know why people say it dropped lol and pr will be zero. it was given to me by someone who owed me money and i used it as the blog was rubbish god help me lol
When asking about setting up a new venture it is important to listen to those who know what they ae talking about. If mikey 1909 has taken the time to help, please stop and listen carefuly to what he says, as he would be in top 5% of authority on the subject. The big fella up in the sky is probably not going to much good as he normally deals in miracles, and in that case you would only need him to step in if you choose not to listen to the good avice given as you will need a miracle to climb out of the mess you get into.
