Interesting idea. I'd actually thought of this before. :D

To be honest though, the $30,000 could be better invested.

I didn't say anything about a profit of 1million, you must be talking about the other guys post. My idea said nothing of it.

Well this is clearly the most retarded idea I have ever seen on DP. Generally these lottery tickets have an expected value of $0.60 on the dollar, so you are losing $12,000 right off the bat.

    IdeaGod? Ya right.

He's not a DP member. LOL!

Runs a successful business here (Dubai), read about it in one of the men's magazine (I was bored :p ). I'll try and find his name/company if I can, forgotten it though...

There is no "Expert advice" on winning at a slot machine either, it is all random and the machine always wins at the end of the day - but there are still strategy and experts...profiting ones. If we both have $100 and you put it into a $100 dollar machine and take 2 pulls at $50 each pull, you only get 2 chances to win. If I take my $100 and play $2 a pull on multiple machines, I have over 50 chances to win (50 plays). My strategy would beat yours as far as increasing the odds of walking out with more than $100. Luck has a lot to do with it too, you might take those 2 pulls and win $100,000. But as far as odds go, there is strategy.

And strategy is a part of winning. If you go buy 1 ticket of 5 different types of tickets, you mathematically decrease your odds being that the overall odds are something like 1:3.x

If I buy 5 of the same ticket, my chances of getting a winning ticket are much higher than yours.

If you want proof, test it. Go buy 1 of each ticket for 5 tickets total. Do it 5 times.

Now buy 5 of the same ticket. Do it 5 times.

Count your winning tickets in each pile. (Not total amount won, total winning tickets.)

You have more winning tickets when you bought 5 of the same kind five different times. You COULD get lucky and get all 5 winners out of 5 different tickets - but you won't do it 5 times in a row.

--- ^ That was an "Expert tip"

I'll bet you the shirt on my back that if someone does this idea they will sell over 200 copies of the ebook in under 2 months x $7 or more pure profit...that is $1400 in less than 60 days. That is a low estimate. If I had to be honest I would estimate 500 sales in 30 days.

I bet it sells to people in the city that seen him or her in the papers with little effort, I bet it sells on the personal blog, and I bet it sells on the main site. I bet him or her can also sell in direct conversation ("seriously? i'll have to get a copy") for the next 1-2 years to even more people that they meet along the way.

(If you are speaking above me...in some type of forum code or business code...or life code...or something like that, ignore this reply...lol.)

--- ^Coming from someone who still hasn't comprehended that the profit comes from the site, the personal blog, advertisements, lottery related affiliate products, paid members, ebook, and the selling/hand-off of the site - not the lottery tickets. Losing all of the $25,000 is obvious - making twice that from the idea is the plan.

Opens a lot of doors too.

    Gives new opportunity.

This is my last post in this thread.

You could also spend $25,000 on manure, cover yourself in it and then run around the city naked and covered in manure, yelling your website's address. Or better yet, write your URL in manure on the grass in a city park. I'm sure that would gain lots of publicity as well...

Another idea for publicity for you guys.

Spend $50 per person and hire five streakers (men and women). Get each streaker to have your website URL + logo tattooed across their chest, and send each of them out at a top sporting event.

Hire 100 streakers, one streaker = one event. That's billions of viewers, and if you pick hot ones (for the women, at least :p ) people are definitely going to visit your site... :D

seriously take the money and put it on a game with good odds. take the $1k profit and have a good weekend, put the initial bet back in the bank for the kids.

i live in the uk, i used to put £200 on a football(soccer) team called rangers every week, 4/5 times they won, and I had a free night out.

    IdeaGod,

You have good ideas. We are pretty sure you have already made it in business, because you have a good imagination.

Only problem with your idea is, it would need somebody as equally bright and imaginative as you to pull it off.

Lastly. WE (on DP), know why somebody would want to do this, but the public would want to know why someone is doing it.

Would he/she be doing this to prove scratch cards are lucky/unlucky/a mug's game etc..???

    Great idea though!

I agree with the above. The idea is brilliant if you look at the whole picture and not just focus on the spending of $30,000 on lotto tickets. Most people wouldn't take a risk like that though. $30,000 is a lot of money. But I can see how someone might take that idea all the way to the bank who had $30000 and the courage to risk in doing something most people would call insane.

The idea IS NOT about making money off the tickets. It is about generating publicity.

Lots of companies spend more than $12,000 and don't get journalists doing stories on them.

We are already successfull business people and would never entertain such an idea.

But if someone did beg or borrow $30,000 and did this, they could well pull it off. In fact, borrowing the money could be part of the "show". Or, the person could sell everything they own, to raise the money.

    Remember "Supersize Me" ?

Load of crap, load of lies, but a load of money was made from it.

It is about making money off of such an attention drawing event that creates multimedia files (pics/vids) for show in one of the biggest markets (gambling) on the planet to generate max amount of profit in multiple ways.

+ using the publicity to open doors, profit more, make new connections, ect.

Would look good in a portfolio. =X

Ok I'm done. That was the last post, swear.

Too bad you didn't listen to your own advice.

The point is, with $30,000 you can do many guerilla marketing techniques (the technical term for what you are doing) - personally I think there are more memorable ones than the lottery ticket deal.
