They have an advert in their yearly email newsletter I think... costs $7k a pop.

of course ,
when its adsense it must show the Ads by Google text
but in some banners i can't see it
i always click on this ads because sometimes they reference me to a good url
btw
i want to know if this forum using affiliate banners also
one time i seen a Chitika affiliate link in the header !

 

There are no other ads than AdSense, so no, there is no other advertising program concept.
If you are talking about buying links, I don't think you could afford that and I don't think Shawn will risk penalisation of a forum, which ranks on first page in SERPs for almost all of the webmaster related keywords.

If you want to use AdWords, you can use the SiteTarget feature to have your ads only appear on forums.digitalpoint.com:

http://services.google.com/ads_inquiry/sitetarget

What you put in your ads is, within the Google policies, up to you. I don't think there is a problem with having a landing page which contains affiliate links, provided that you don't launch pop-ups etc.

 

Your best bet would be to use AdWords.

 

you can sponsor the news letter.... but that has not gone out for like 3 years =P
