Do these forums signatures actually help?

I can't find the post where I read that DP forum signatures can actually be bad for you because of the unrelativeness and the high amount of links you would have from the same site.

What's true? Do they help, even if just a little or they they can hurt your ranking ?

 

they dont hurt, they boost your rankings.

signatures work great for a huge webmaster exposure of DP.

 

Really? Well, I thought since there would be so many outgoing links in this forum.. and like 500 links bang appearing at the same time from the same domain, they might hurt 'something' there .

 

I haven't really noticed an improvement on any of my major sites. So i just use my blogspot blogs in it.

I will wait 3 more months to know if it helps or not. My guess is it helps only a little. Probably equivalent to a PR1 directory. But at the same time it will depend also upon the number of posts. The more the better.

 

I don't think you'll get anything more than just exposure to more DigitalPoint members and the backlinks, which definetly have a very low weight.

Look at forum sigs more as advertising a little than link building. By posting in threads it gets your sites link in front of people. I wouldn't count on too much link value from them. If you want link value look to the directory in MY sig.

I think it also depends how the forum is setup and the sig links are "nofollow" or "dofollow"

Im cofident this forum is nofollow. Seems to have no baring at all on any of my sites. And im sure for the guys with 10 000 posts. Sig links are weak to.

On other forums, that are do follow every post sig link counts as a backlink. Which is really handy. Thats what here should be like.

 

Maybe your Anchor Text is just crappy and not interesting for people to click on it?

Of course DP sig links are NOT no-follow.

Anyways, they do have influence on ranking.
Not a lot, they do. What i know for a fact is that they will get your website indexed fairly quickly.

 

im sure it will help alittle, any exposure is good for you ya know

 

Don't think this will hurt you in any way, perhaps some traffic and exposure ,
getting some linkexchanges with other members,thus creating a quality backlink.
So to make it short, you will only benefit from this.

 

It helps for me I am getting sales from my bid directory. And If you have a PR4 profile like I do it does give juice.

 

They don't hurt and they do help to some extent but don't expect a major boost in the rankings.

 

Helps you in advertising your website with in the DP members (thats for sure), as well as helps your website indexed by search engines (if you have a new website easiest way to get it indexed ).
