I have an adsense ready wordpress theme where I enter the pub id so the google ads will show. On the home page the ads are about wordpress and not targetted to my make money online content. The ads don't even show at all on some pages. They're just blank white spots. How can I fix it?
Give it some time. It takes awhile for google to start serving up related ads. Also check the www. or non www. version. Sometimes one updates before the other. Fear not, they will become one in time.
Blank spaces are in place of public service ads when there are no ads to serve. Therefore could be that your content is lame. It could be though that it is taking time as stated above, adsense doesn't always display ads that are relevant, especially for new account and new sites. What I was saying about traffic pertains to the wordpress ads. If you have little traffic but got a click or two on a wordpress ad it will display those until your traffic increases and you get more on better targetted ads.
You can use targeted sections of text as well to help the adsense find ads for your web site.. https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=23168 Most of the time a blank space shows up is because in the load-time search of your page the program wasn't able to figure out what to put there. I use this for my site to insure that the ads that do show up are somewhat relevant to my content.
when did you publish your site? if its a new site just uploaded, then it might take upto 25 hours for google to index your site before it can deliver related ads also, if your WP theme has tables and if the adsense ad is on a table seperated from the rest of the content, then that could be an issue but only for new sites. its been a day you posted this, so if you still don;t see related ads, i see you do a test. put the adsense code in a blog entry on the body and see if you see related ads. make sure its not a theme coding issue
