Ron and Alex would welcome them with open arms and say "guys, thanks for coming! See that tower over there? Start with that one, and if you need anything, just let us know."

I'm curious as to GTech's stance on the CFR and their goals, and how he addresses his candidate being associated with them.

Latest polls "of likely Republican primary voters" show the Huckster's support in Iowa is falling after the Bhutto assassination. He is now roughly tied with Romney.

Seems like he had his Howard Dean moment.

I think he just peaked a bit too early. If his entire rise happened a month later in time, he'd be at his peak right as the Iowa primaries hit. As it stands now, the other campaigns have had the time to attack him, and the lack of significant funding is going to hurt him as we approach Super Tuesday.

From my understanding, his organizational presence in Iowa is almost non-existent. He's been relying on the churches as satellite offices, which could backfire as they are limited by law in how much they can do overtly.

Without a strong "get out the vote" effort, I could see him finishing anywhere from 2nd to 4th.

Romney already has buses and carpools arranged, as does the Paul campaign. I imagine Thompson may also have something like this, and McCain too.

Right now, I would say Romney is the Iowa front runner, but since 50% of his supporters say they could change their minds, anything can happen on the night of the straw poll.

Thompson? His campaign is so broke, he can barely pay for his *own* bus to tour the state. He's done after New Hampshire.

I'm lucky, my neighborhood, which consists of about 10 small sub-divisions, has a clubhouse with a pool, and that's the voting location for my precinct. About a half mile from my house, and it's like 75-80 outside today.

I feel bad for the Iowa voters who have to miss a bowl game and brave incredible weather to get out the vote. Interesting tidbits about the Huckabee organization. He does seem more and more like a Dean or Obama character every day. Lots of people like him, he's well received, but the support is VERY soft. Between your updates about his Iowa organization, and his fairly public fund-raising numbers this quarter, I just see a candidate who people like but not many REALLY support. In a week, we'll know.
