I just purchased a domain that has been regsitered since 2004. It has just been a parked page doman since then..no work, no incoming links. But i bought it from someone..and want to build a site.. QUESTION IS: Will the age help in getting it in the SERP's fast? since its not a new domain...or does this rule only apply to domains that have been developed into sites? thanks
I think it will in my case over the past months I find domains I buy are in the the searches for a short period of time then drop out. I have noticed domains that havnt done any good anywhere are starting to appear in google the sandbox um sure I would go for a mature domain than a new one myself Cheers mrix
did ownership change on registry? was the site indexed before....ever? how long did you renew for? was there content on the site? these are the main factors but I would choose old vs new (unless you can come up with a more user friendly domain name) almost everytime
old domain give good value compared to new name old in the sence from when its indexed and is that indexed with relevant content
Do not be too fast on your answer. Domain age plays a part. And same goes to domain expiration. How many Registrars have been changed on this domain and how many ip addresses have it been through?
Exactly! There are other factors that determine the domain relevancy as well. I do believe the domain age is one critical factor that the search engine considers.
