Hi which rank is your niche? In alexa, yahoo is No1, Google No2, Live No3. In Pagerank Google is NO1. It seems plausible that Google favours itself. My search result for my own website makes more sense in yahoo than google and least sense in live.

The alexa rank will tell about the traffic your site is getting. It depends upon how many alexa tool bar enabled people search your site. You can easily influence the alexa ranking. Where as the google page rank is an algorithm which takes in to account so many factors that truly represents the value or worthiness of your site (Of course in google's view!)
Billions! I am saying that Pagerank might not be as perfect as people feel it is. It has its billion dollar worth. However when I try searching for my homepage in google, it shows me results of irrelevant backlinks, wheras when I search it in yahoo it shows me my exact homepage URL at the no1 spot. It is ridiculous how when people make links exchange all they care about is pagerank. And it has been 3 months since Google did any updates on Pagerank. What do you people feel about pagerank? Absolute criteria for a web site's worth or just a style. I feel somewhat in between about pagerank. It is not all about a website's worth.
Alexa - depends on traffic to a site (with toolbar installed) PR - backlinks to the site Both are different. But they both mean nothing to me ( atleast alexa doesn't ) :d
hey valley, hows it goin? the only advantage i can see to alexa if if you had a really nieve advertiser and you said to him, look my site is ranked 10834 in the world. and then say something poetic like "do you know how many websites there are? i will tell you well over a billion. my site is in the top 1%. the the price will be 1 dollar per impression" lol
Morning SL, how are you. How's the mission going? Vanity in other words a bit. I somehow though that a link from a low alexa may carry more weight (somehow), a bit like a link from the yahoo or G directories
