Hello, Are there any Game Owners around here? If you own a Game (RPG, strategy, etc) or some kind of directory. All based on the browser based games and the non commercial games. So no PS2/PS3/Xbox360/Wii/etc directory owners but the real stuff I would like to know what kind of methods you are using for promotion and i'm aslo curious to see how many of you are around here Thanks, NwS
You need to depends on what platform you developed Flash? Offline? MMO? Flash - submit your game to those arcade website - send to your friend - upload as torrent and let everyone know it Offline - i believe you can find game publisher easily, and let them publish for you and u just concentrate your game development - develop two version (trial/demo) + paid ver - submit to torrent site, leech your demo - participate in Ads/Affiliate Network (running profit share) - Co-Brand with Game Forum MMO - Co-Brand with Game Forum - Allow Free Play (only charge the subscriber for buy rare item) - nowadays MMO quite competitive, so they rather open a free platform instead of pay for subscription to play P.S. Or you can consider my Contextual Ad Network. The site will be up in Jan 08. May be we can cooperate in future. Anyway, Good Luck for your promotion!
I already said.. Online browser based games. These are the most famous online games on the NET (imho..). Although i can admit that your promotion of your sire was good.. Maybe you can send me some info through PM? If you are looking for a partner that is. Cya, NwS
Aren't there sites where you get your users to vote and then you appear higher in the rankings? I've never made a site like that, probably be fun though.
I'm not sure about the terminology, I meant a site like this. I don't own any game sites, I just played some several years ago.
Always thought of starting up a gaming site (as in online browser-based game or directory) My origional idea was a social network of gaming, but thats been done
If you have a game, you can distribute it to arcades (contact me, I have 3), or you can sell sponsorship on the game to an arcade (again, contact me). Thousands of arcades and thousands of sponsorship buyers.
That's what happens when i forget to explain it with details.. What i am talking about has nothing to do with arcade games.. Thank you for your info though! NwS
Well, if I understand your thread correctly, you're talking about pbbg's (Persistant browser based games), games that are turn based and played over a long time. If that is the case, I can report myself as such a game owner. I run a browser based game called Managerglory, www.managerglory.com, an football (soccer) manager game. Now to your other question, how to promote such a game. I guess it is like the rest of the sites on the Internet, hard work and patience.
PBBG's are just a new style of gaming which i didn't really understand yet but that's another thing. IMHO thats for newbies were are all the old hardcore gamers hmm xD You are a new game owner right?
Not really, PBBG is just a new acronym for an old type of games(MMORG, MUD, RPG or whatever you like to call it). The difference between a classic definition of this kind of game and a PBBG is that; 1. It is browser-based. The game is played over the Internet using only a web browser. 2. It is persistent. Progress in the game is achieved over multiple playing sessions. Take a look at http://www.pbbg.org/ for further information If PBBG's are for newbies or not that is not up to me to tell but I see no difference in building a game for a browser or building a 'hardcore game'. Nope, I've been working on my game for quiet a while now but yes there is a lot to be done before I can call it completed. But on the other hand that is the beauty of this kind of game creation, it is an ongoing proccess that never ends!
PBBG's are a new kind on this type of gaming though And IMHO it's more simple to code than the rest games.. :/
