as you know you can export google adwords keyword tool into excel - I just want to know what functions I can use to help me better chose my keywords? I created a video and post on how to chose competitve cheap keywords http://www.ianfernando.com/2007/use-excel-to-help-you-with-keywords/ but I want to know the other extent of using excel and the export of the keywords from google keyword tool - here are my plans what I want to do within excel. 1. I want to enter a per click cost .50 for example and base on the numbers provides via the keyword tool I want to see what keywords would be good to use on a per click basis? 2. maybe do a whole spend per month and determine what keywords are good for that monthly spend? like for example I want to spend 3k a month - what keywords would be viable on a 30 day basis? just tryin to expand the keywords via excel since google adwords keyword tool allows you to export to excel. any ideas?
Good idea, have you found out anything yet? I'm interested in this myself so that's why I'm writing here (do get it in my subscriber list).
i havent found anything yet - I mean I have made simple files with ctrs and epc cpc etc - but I have not found anything else besides the basics I want to make something really advance well for my needs I just need to know how some of the mathematical numbers come about like avg search volume etc
just watched your video a like your approach to generate keywords although i don't entirely agree with it for some niches i could see it working well in high search volume niches. thanks for sharing!
agreed right now i advertise in a very small niche so this form of generating keywords is not adequate for me but i do like the approach for high volume keywords in very competitive niches the approach will result in more valuable clicks
not a problem - like I said its not 100% useful since it is an average of an average - but it helps filter out competitive keywords which osmeone may pay really high for and may not even get seen also thanks for the feedback - just wish there was more ways to use excel as a tool for keyword manipulation - I wish I knoew how they took the average so then I can use excel to its full limits for ppc campaigns and stuff
Very good video, I really like your logic. After using your first filter for the first set of keywords, I do not think you should go back too google for more. I think I should be better to take each keyword and go to overture to get similar keywords to the great ones that you have already filtered. I wouldn't go back to the google keyword to get more keywords. It is also recommended not to have more than 20 keywords per ad group. If you want to know what keywords are profitable , you can use undercover profit with clickfliping, google assasin or afiliate elite.
thanks! hmm really I see the logic there maybe have like a good quality score for those top 20 keywords I guess right? also everyone I just created a new excel post and tool for you to use via google docs http://www.ianfernando.com/2008/keyword-conversion-figure-out-which-works/
