Does Huckabee know anything of foreign policy?

Does he even know what the hell is going on in the world today?

    http://edition.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/12/28/huckabee.foreign.policy/index.html

I can't vote for a guy completely naive to what is going on in the world today. I thought he was a good candidate but this baffles me.

What do you think of this? Seems like Huckabee has brought out the shovels and is ready to dig himself a grave.

Even if by some miracle, Huck can win the GOP nomination, he will get eaten alive in the General Election.

I usually take a "wait and see" to responses on these. The media, and others, have so often misrepresented and misquoted Huckabee, that at times, it's had me scratching my head as well. Only a day or two later, to find out the story was not right in the first place.

He does have foreign policy experience. He's been to a great many country and worked with governments of many countries during his time as Governor to secure business deals for Arkansas. I would imagine, like other candidates who are on the trail, going from one place to another to another to another as fast as possible to cover as much ground, that getting current events of the day is not always the easiest to do.

I disagree. Numerous polls have showed him very close, tied, and winning against democrats.

When he does win though, I suspect most of the ron paul supporters will probably drift back around to the extreme left side again and vote democrat. Though some will probably do a write in to give the democrats the same leverage.

If polls picked the election, Ross Perot would have been President.

lol. You just don't "get it".

If internet hype picked the election, so would Howard Dean ;)

You'd be surprised. I was "young" once too ;)

Dean had the poll #s though. Dean's net campaign can't even compare to this.

Zephyr Teachout, Dean's online campaign manager had a nice interview with PBS and talked about the differences, and how this one has so much more potential.

It's not about being young or being on the right/left. It's about freedom, and that's universal.

GTech, I don't care what spin the campaign wants to put on the statement after the fact, but he did in fact offer "sincere concern and apologies". If he was reading from a script, he needs to fire his speech writer. More likely, he was speaking off the top of his head and his carelessness with words is alarming.

i think hillary said it best.. "we need to move determinately and steadfastly to a democracy"

'and consequently reach atrophy but remarkably and unwillingly reach autocracy through an autopsy and possibly a biopsy of the insurgency'

dude i would be the best political speech writer, no joke. i could come up with the best dumb sh*t to sell this nation out to mental midgets.

Bernie, I'm already aware that most ron paul supporters are not interested in the truth. Surely you were not trying to convince me you really care?

You failed to answer my question. Why did ron paul blame America first (again) for her death and provide aid and comfort to al qaida?

"Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel."

Paul blamed foreign policy, as usual you will claim it was blaming America.

When people talk against the war, you call them terrorist sympathizers or anti-American. It's all meant to dumb down the conversation by resorting to Straw Men and slander. Fox News style.

GTech, while you were banned, did you get re-Hannitized?

unfortunately for gtech, sean hannity is on vacation. for some reason i tuned it the past few days.. seeing what the whiny talk show hosts are up to.

i'm sure he's been listening to mike savage though, he came back from vacation because of the 'emergency'. slammed ron paul several times saying his words were "text book libertarian idiocy" and then had pat buchanan on his show and continue to talk shit on him as pat says nothing to back him up.

i used to think savage was smart but he's just as dumb as the rest. glenn beck's the only guy i can respect who is in that business MOSTLY because of his humor and lately it's been running dry.

Real patriots do not need to redefine it's meaning to mask for tearing their country down. If one desires the nobility that comes with patriotism, one should consider being at least as kind towards his own country, as he is the country and leader(s) of those who have threatened us.

Paul blamed America. We are one America, our policy, our leaders, our people.

I call those who sympathize with terrorists, terrorist supporters. I've given many examples of such and many here have done so. If one is ashamed of sympathizing with, defending, and supporting terrorists, they should stop doing so.

Again, why did ron paul use political opportunism to reach out and blame America first? Or am I right that it is this very type of "blame America first" policy that ron paul offers, that attracts the fringes that make up his base?
