dear member, i am going to setup a webhosting company. would you please share how can i start marketing, any tips ! i need 200 clients within 2 monts ! is that possible? Thanks.
Most webhosting reseller accounts have videos, training and meetings to help you market. Also some companies give you 50 or 100 dollars to get a PPC account in Adwords and Yahoo, they also give you sample of ads. The competition is hughe in this market, I believe that the best way to market it is by creating a free report either about domain names, or hosting scams give it away, and have links to all of the pages of your webhosting site referenced in the free report. PPC is your best bet, but is not cheap, unles you go to second group of ppc companies.
I tried to start a web hosting company, I was not successful, held my head above water. It matter how much you market your site, That is an average of ~2 clients a day, not too hard. I reccomend starting on forums, web hosting directories, have affiliates, and wom.
You probably already know this site, but try getting your new site noticed on http://www.webhostingtalk.com/ Get your link in your signature on every forum you use. -- Phil

It's absolutely possible, and actually can be easily accomplished if you're willing to buy out an existing hosting company with an existing consumer base. Other than that, I'd suggest you explore other options before getting involved in the hosting industry as its an extremely saturated and competitive industry. I'm glad I sold my hosting company when I did. If you're keen on getting into this industry, then you'll have to do something that'll allow you to stand out from the rest of the crowd. My advice would be to attempt to lure local businesses as clients. This has worked extremely well for me in the past, and pretty much means you'll have zero competition depending on your area. WHT is a priceless resource for any web host, however it is without doubt not a place you want to advertise your services. It's user base is mainly composed of web hosts and businesses involved in the hosting industry, and doesn't really hold that many potential clients. And even if it did, it'd be extremely hard to compete with so many hosting companies in one arena. Having said that, it's an ideal place to gather industry contacts, and receive advice from successful web hosts. Just make sure you take what they tell you with a grain of salt. I wish you luck.
